My daughter has some serious health issues that have made it necessary for her to be a cyber student. After two months of doing cyber school on her own, she was frustrated and despondent. We needed some tutoring help fast and were thrilled to find Barbara through WyzAnt. She lives close by and is a retired biology teacher from my daughter's school who shares her love of horses. Initially, my daughter's ability to do school work was erratic and unpredictable, resulting in some last minute cancellations of her tutoring sessions. Barbara was very gracious and understanding of her situation. She has been able to work with my daughter's mood and energy swings and gently guide and support her academic progress. Barbara came with us to meet the cyber teachers and quickly mastered the cyber learning environment. She is very enthusiastic about biology and makes learning about it fun. My husband and I were very fortunate to find Jazmine on WyzAnt to tutor my 15-year-old daughter in Spanish. I looked for a local Spanish tutor for some time and could not find anyone who was nearby and within my budget. Jazmine began by evaluating my daughter's knowledge to determine her current level before proceeding. She makes Spanish fun and incorporates many different methods to teach, including movies, videos and articles, in addition to traditional methods such as flashcards, worksheets, quizzes and tests. She also accommodates my hectic schedule, and she always has a smile on her face!
Jazmine is an excellent communicator. She plans her sessions in advance and sends a detailed email to me ahead of time so that I know what they will be working on. She also sends me a review after each class.

I have to admit, I was looking for the cheapest tutor I could find, so Peter was not my first choice. But, I'm very glad I decided to meet with him. He is honestly the best tutor I've ever had. He takes the time to figure out where the root of my problems with algebra begin, instead of doing the work for me. He also explains everything in great detail and shows me shortcuts.
We've already covered order of operations, PEMDAS, distribution, the FOIL method, exponents of numbers, variables and parentheses as well as factoring. All of these topics were covered in 2 sessions and I fully understand all of them now.
Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Peter K. as a tutor. He is reliable and is helping me because he wants me to do well, not just to make a little extra cash.
