"Marshall the Essay Tutor"

I began as a lover of the printed page. Originally, I was a Liberal Arts major who enjoyed reading in my spare time. However, through English courses, I realized that I had a talent and fascination with writing and revising. I enjoyed reading so much that I went back to school and became an English major at Castleton State College in Vermont. Immediately, I knew that reading and writing essays was the right choice for me. I graduated magna cum laude and spoke at the Vermont Academic S... ... More

"Mathematics tutor (Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus)"

I have been a math tutor for five years. I also worked as a middle school math teacher in a high needs school for one year. I believe in the UPS - check method of solving problems. That is: U - Understand the problem - what is being asked P - Plan how you are going to solve the problem S - Solve the problem Check - Check your solution, particularly for reasonableness I believe in giving the students the background so that they can understand how and why certain solution methods work. Eugene was gracious and literally went "the extra mile" when he tutored our son in AP Calculus. Although we live on the other side of town from Eugene, he graciously offered to drive across town to meet with our son. He seems very knowledgeable in Calculus, and showed our son some advanced problem solving techniques that have not yet even been covered in his regular class. We very much appreciate Eugene's dedication and courtesy, and would recommend him without hesitation to anyone seeking a tutor for advanced high school mathematics.

"Specializing in Elementary Math and Reading Skills"

I have 10 years of experience teaching and tutoring students up to 8th grade. I especially enjoy tutoring grades 3 - 5, ensuring that their math and reading skills are at grade level or above so that they have a smooth and happy transition into the upper grade levels. One-on-one tutoring is a wonderful way to reach students who are struggling in a regular classroom setting, or who need concepts repeated or explained in a different way. I am certified in Elementary Education K-6, as well as... ... More

"Patient and Understanding Former High School Math Teacher"

My background in statistics began in the 1990s when I wrote two articles on how statistics should be used in my field of process control of ion implantation in the semiconductor manufacturing industry. These were published in international industry conference proceedings. That interested me enough to create and teach a one-day adult short course in statistics. I was fortunate enough to teach this course all over the U.S. via the American Vacuum Society for five years. Students included technicians, engineers, other industry professionals, and one statistics professor. I then taught Advanced ... More
