Tom is a wonderful tutor. He is clear, concise and unbelievably patient. He is certainly not the type of tutor who does your work for you. He breaks the overall lesson down into easily digestible segments that build on one another.
Most of the difficulty that I have had in the past was with connecting some seemingly irrelevant principle that meant nothing to me at the time it was introduced (whether grade school, junior high, or high school). With Tom's gentle guidance and an explanation of why these principles apply and are helpful, I truly understand the importance of the cumulative nature of math now. I only wish that I worked with him much earlier.
I used to think of math as torture. Now I am seriously considering studying it further. What I used to view as 'magic' now appears fascinating and exciting. I owe this transformation all to Tom.
