"Expertise in English"
I graduated in May of 2015, with a bachelor's degree in English. Currently working as a substitute teacher, which allows me to have a flexible schedule. At my time at Bridgewater, I learned to sharpen my writing skills, master techniques of writing and have acquired great communication skills.
I am an excellent tester and a clear, concise writer. Although English is my strongest skill, I am able to comprehend most subjects and can provide service for most subject matter at the middle and ... ... More

"Improving reading and writing skills will not explode your head."
I'm a lucky guy - I've always loved reading and writing, and I've used my skills in both to achieve success in more than one career area. I majored in English as a college student even though I had always had a great interest in sciences, especially biology.
Little did I know how much I would love my months student teaching high school English and working with adolescents to develop their reading and writing skills. Sadly, for me, there just weren't many Massachusetts job openings for ... ... More

"College Prep, Math, English, Latin, and Ancient Greek"
With ten years of study of Classical Latin and three years in Ancient Greek, I built a strong command of grammar, analysis, and reading in both languages. I am also able to assist in English, History, and Writing. As the appointed Latin tutor for the Emory Classics department, I have been instrumental in students’ comprehension of Latin. I have developed skills in communication by tutoring in both one-on-one and group settings. This year, I received a nomination for Tutor of the Year. I have ... ... More

Without Kirstie's help, I would have never passed my very difficult climate dynamics class at Berkeley. I decided to take this course without having completed any of the "recommended" prerequisites, thinking that I would be okay, but after receiving an 'F' on the first assignment, I began to panic, which led me to finding Kirstie here on WyzAnt.
After the first time working with Kirstie, I already felt much more comfortable about my decision to continue on with this course, rather than dropping it. I could tell immediately that she wanted to make sure that I was able to understand and really learn the concepts, instead of just giving me answers for my homework (exactly what I was looking for). She is also very patient, which is a major plus, considering that sometimes it took a very long time for these foreign concepts to click in my brain. On top of that, the genuine look of excitement on Kirstie's face whenever I was able to figure out a tough concept showed me that she truly cared. She also spent a lot of her own personal time going through my notes and her own sources/books to come up with different ways to approach things if I was having a lot of difficulty. One of the greatest parts about working with Kirstie was that she recognized where my strengths and weaknesses were, which really helped us to make the most out of our sessions each week.
Not only is this woman incredibly smart and an amazing teacher, but she also became my biggest cheerleader in working through this extremely tough course. At times, I would get really down and frustrated with the material, but I always felt comfortable with expressing this to Kirstie. She would always remind me of how hard I had been working, and how far I had come since our first session together. The constant support and optimism durning our meetings was a huge motivator for me to keep pushing forward. It's very difficult to even find the right words to describe how much I appreciate meeting and working with this remarkable lady, and all of the time and effort that she put in to help me figure this stuff out.
I couldn't be any happier with my experience with Kirstie, and would highly recommend her to anyone!

Amie was terrific with my son Justin. Saying she was patient would be an understatement. Justin was failing his Chemistry class and Amy worked with him despite the fact he didn't have some of the most basic learning skills like knowing how to use the glossary. But nothing I can say would be better than this ... Justin got a C in his Chemistry exam! And I credit Amie 100% with his improvement. Thank you Amie! Looking forward to hiring you again in the near future to help Justin.

Kevin is a very good tutor, patient and great at helping you understand what he teaches. The first time I took the ASVAB I did not do so well, then I got Kevin M. as a math tutor. After he helped me understand it I went and took the ASVAB again and passed and I did dramatically well. I give Kevin a 5 star review and would refer him anytime. Thanks again Kevin.
