I've been teaching in Florida for over ten years. I've taught at both the middle school and high school level. My responsibilities have always focused on reading and writing. My first position was in the Poinciana area and a substantial portion of students were ESOL. The best part of my job was seeing students with little or no English succeed. I have 5 children. Three of those five were diagnosed with various serious medical issues. As such, I chose to home-school two of them and allow the third to remain in school. Two of those children, along with their other ailments, had severe ADHD. One also had a spatial deficit which means his hand to eye coordination was very strained, at best.
