"Tutor in History, Government, and Music"
I started off college as a Music Education major, but soon realized that my true passion lies in politics and the law. I changed my major to Political Science and graduated this past December. Once I changed majors I immediately sought out a vast array of opportunities in order to get as much experience as possible. I studied abroad for a semester at the University of Westminster in London, England, where I took classes in both history and politics, one class focusing on political gaming w... ... More

My daughter was very pleased with Kelly and finished the session with a smile. She finished two lessons and felt very good with her success. She enjoyed Kelly and wants her to continue to work with her to complete this course. Thank you Kelly!

"Philosophy Grad, Chess Coach, Autodidact, & Learning Expert"
Greetings! I'm Lance; thank you for visiting my page. I studied philosophy at Benedictine University after taking a long break from schooling and learning to study. My teaching style reflects my primary area of research. Brute memorization accomplishes little genuine understanding. Instead, my approach encourages pupils to think through, question, and process information. That sort of questioning promotes understand of the subject. Facts are useless without systematization—it's only when they... ... More

"26 Years Teaching Experience: Rdg/Wtg/ESL/Grammar/Middle/Tutoring"
This year marks my 26th year as a certified teacher in English: grammar, writing, reading, spelling, vocabulary skills, and have tutored many students over the past 5 years. Although the majority of my time has been spent teaching 6th-8th graders, I've also taught kiddos as young as kindergarten! Throughout the years I've taught in Missouri, Nebraska, Washington, Illinois, and even ESL in a little country in the middle of the Pacific Ocean called the Republic of the Marshall Islands! No matte... ... More

Sandra has been working with my son for a few months now. She is extremely patient with him as he is a slow learner. He has come a long way, it is all thanks to Sandra. When I was still looking for a tutor for him, she always responded to my emails promptly/timely manner.
Thank you Sandra we appreciate having!

"Special Education and GED teacher!"
I live in East Mesa and am willing to travel within 30-40 miles to do tutoring. I have been a special education teacher for 3-4 years, 2 of those years here in the Valley.
I have 2 children and 3 grandchildren, all of whom live back in the Chicago land area. I love working with children of all ages and this is my passion.
Particularly, I like to teach English, writing, and literature. I also have taught general math, pre-algebra, general sciences, biology, civics and geography. I love learning and consider myself a life-long learner as well as a teacher. Looking forward to working with Wyz ... More

My 14 year old son actually enjoys going to his math tutor. He does not like math but he likes David Z. He is easy to contact (text) and always punctual. I would definitely recommend him as a math tutor.

David is a great tutor. He goes slow and is willing to go back over problems more than once. Helped me get a grip on math fast!

I needed a tutor for my 17 year old son for SAT prep and my son who was failing algebra! After reviewing many profiles on Wyzant I came across Alex's profile. I was highly impressed, not only by his academic qualifications but by the way he described his approach as being individual to each student's needs. As soon as I met him I knew that I had made the right decision. Alex connected immediately with both of my sons and was able to quickly access their learning styles and aid them in using the necessary tools towards the applications. On a personal note, my impression of Alex is that he is not only a highly qualified tutor but a very well spoken, extremely intelligent individual with a very likable and caring personality. I am impressed by his ability as a tutor, his vast academic knowledge and his engaging communication skills. I look forward to many more tutoring sessions with Alex as he aids my sons towards striving to reach their goals.
