8185 ESL Tutors ( English as a second language )
Whether you are looking to improve your English to attain a native skill level, or are just starting out with learning English as a second language, you could benefit from some private ESL tutoring. English is a difficult language to master especially because of the various dialects ad the difficult grammar and syntax rules that are involved. Often students feel as though the textbook English they learn in class is very different from what is spoken around them in the United States. Often ESL tutors can help you to get to grips with these discrepancies through additional ESL lessons and English coaching. Take a look at the tutor profiles below and pick the tutor who will best serve your ESL needs.

"The "All About" Latin Dance Teacher "

Hi there Latin dance learners! Here is a little about me: I am from Florida and my parents are Honduran. I grew up in a home that listened to Latin and Caribbean music, but no one knew how to dance it. While away at college, I joined Azúcar Dance Company where I trained to become an instructor and performer. I have performed at the Miami International Salsa Congress and at the first Hotlanta Salsa Congress, and I have taught students of all ages at many venues in Florida. Azúcar primaril... ... More

"Ph.D. Student in Education and Former Math Teacher"

I am a former NC math teacher that relocated to the Dallas area for a Ph.D. program in Education at a local university. I have previously taught high school math and math to ESOL students. Tutoring is fun because it allows teachers to actually obtain an individual understanding of how students learn. I like to make math relevant but also make connections between other mathematical content. I have a master's in education, which has prepared me well to be an individual tutor. I also am wor... ... He taught Lee key strategies that he said if not for Anthony, he'd never thought of. He is giving him lessons and things to work on. We will see him again in two weeks.
Tonia is thorough, extremely patient, and very knowledgeable. She tutored my daughter in trigonometry which she was failing in the beginning of the school year and after one session she was able to clear up her misconceptions and help her bring her grade up significantly. In addition to tutoring, she also emailed my daughter some online trigonometry links which helped her to study for her test on her own. She is also very accommodating with her tutoring schedule.
Rebecca has an ideal manner for private tutoring. She skillfully tailors every portion of the lesson to the student's unique needs and learning style. Throughout the lesson, while maintaining a thoroughly professional demeanor, she uses friendly and encouraging wit and common sense to draw the student forward, never being negative or demeaning. I'm very glad to have her!
Clement has worked diligently with my daughter on Critical Reading. He is very patient and explains everything thoroughly. I would highly recommend Clement.
