I studied piano for many years as a child and teenager. I entered and won local and statewide piano competitions, attended the National Music Camp, taught piano to the neighborhood kids, played in recitals, did some ensemble work, etc. My freshman year in college I was a music major but after one year decided as much as I loved music and the piano, I didn't want to make it my life's work.
