Adam is very thorough and very patient. He gently guides me past my mistakes. He makes the lesson interesting, so the lesson does not seem to be arduous, even if difficult concepts are being discussed. He is always easy to communicate with outside of class.

I worked as an Associate Professional doing Community Support and Intensive In Home Therapy for 2 years with 2 different companies, which gave me lots of experience working with ADHD students. Since then, I have often tutored ADHD students privately. Furthermore, I have done extensive college level studies in Abnormal, Developmental, and General Psychology. ... More

"Patient, knowledgable, highly qualified tutor with a Doctorate degree"
After practicing as an attorney for most of my adult life, I decided to pursue a different career path and chose teaching. I have been a teacher in public and private settings for the past 8 years and am now semi-retired. I now hope to focus upon what I enjoy doing most; reaching young people and helping them succeed, through education. I chose teaching as a second career because, as a lawyer, I had the opportunity to observe firsthand the inequities faced by young people caught up withi... ... More

Hi,
My name is Tiffany! I am a graduate from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. I graduated with a Bachelors in English. Rita is an excellent teacher.
She started us off with all the basics, proceeding patiently with letters and pronunciation, working with me on the basics while also making me listen to her speak and try to formulate answers.
She is prepared for each lesson with materials and an idea or goal of what she wants to teach and what I need to learn. I like that her approach is geared to speaking, reading, writing and grammar - they are all essential - while she, at the same time, puts an emphasis on listening and speaking.
Rita is so well prepared and knows what she wants me to study and learn each time. She is making every effort to have me listen to her and understand her when she speaks and to answer her in Russian. It is a fun challenge and she is keeping my feet to the fire. Best of all, I believe I am learning a great deal from class to class and during our classes.
I can best summarize it by stating that Rita is an excellent teacher and fun to work with!
Rita is adding a lot of material, which requires self study and I am enjoying that a great deal. Every class she has not only new lessons prepared but also varied homework materials to read and, now, also to write. She is certainly "pushing me" (nicely) to learn at great speed. I enjoy that thoroughly.
Great class. I feel I have learned a good deal in a short period of time. I credit Rita with a great deal of that progress.
Such an excellent teacher! Demanding, conscientious, knows how to bring learning forwards. I never thought it would be so much fun to go "back to school".

I love her! She has the most vibrant energy I've ever seen and always uses new ways to help me understand math from a students perspective rather than a teachers. I've been tutored by teachers before and they mostly only know how to teach from a teachers outlook which takes more time and patience i personally think! Although with Waveney I've raced through most of my math course and hoping to work with her in the future! If your looking for someone with energy, patience and a different style of teaching she is your girl!
