I have been teaching High School English for over 10 years. My test scores have been in the top 25% in my county for 8 of those years. I am passionate about students seeing their own ability to achieve and succeed in a subject that they do not always enjoy. I have 5 children. Three of those five were diagnosed with various serious medical issues. As such, I chose to home-school two of them and allow the third to remain in school. Two of those children, along with their other ailments, had severe ADHD. One also had a spatial deficit which means his hand to eye coordination was very strained, at best. Additionally, I worked with many ADHD/Special Ed teachers and counselors, via the school system. I am a retired teacher, retired early, which taught Special Education students. I loved my job, and all my students went on to 9th grade with my teaching strategies and help. I graduated cum laude from LaGrange College with a degree in Biochemistry as well as significant college coursework in mathematics, physics, and psychology along with broad core background in the humanities: English, Spanish, Writing, etc. I am currently pursuing my Master's of Engineering in Nanotechnology.
