James (Jim) is a fantastic tutor. He is genuinely interested in the success of his students. He spends time making sure he is prepared for what is happening in class each week. He isn't just looking to make money. If he doesn't think he can help you he will tell you. He is very flexible and goes above and beyond to make sure you succeed. I don't think I have ever encountered a tutor that is better prepared and clearly invested in the success of his students.
William R tutored my daughter last summer for the new GRE exam. She is strong in verbals, but very weak in math. She was only in the country for a month, so that's all the time William had to work with her. He was very accommodating re: schedule and did a great job analyzing her weaknesses & learning style. He was very motivating and was able to help bring her math skill level up significantly. She went from a 520 to 630 in math, in a very short period of time. I am sure it would have been even better if they'd had more time. I would like others who are looking for a reassuring, motivational, committed tutor to know that William R fits the bill!
We have a 7-year old that is being homeschooled. We have decided that we wanted to focus his immediate academic advancement on Reading Comprehension, Math and Science, but in a manner that would leverage his learning style. We are consequently in need of teachers that know and understand their subjects, students as learners and varied pedagogical strategies. In the case of Math, we could have not wished for someone better than Gwen, as she fits the profile to a T. Our son has so far very much enjoyed her and is looking forward to her continued teaching. We highly recommend her to anyone who wants a teacher that is serious about Math but also knows how to make even an elephant learn it.
