Shelia has done a fabulous job with my son! Has given him great confidence in his reading.
Showed improvement with his school work after just 3 lessons. My son went from not wanting to read anything to looking forward to his lesson with Shelia. I highly recommend her!!

"Dyslexia/Writing/and ESL Tutor"
Many of my dyslexic students also suffer from ADHD. These students with ADHD learn best with carefully structured lessons.I would also explain to the student what I want them to learn in the current lesson. Next I'd mention to the student how he or she should behave during the lesson.
Introducing Lessons
Provide an advance organizer. I also use templates to help organize the student.
Prepare student for the lesson by summarizing the order of activities planned. I'd also remind the student for example, that a review of the previous lesson will be followed by new information.

Pnina has been working with my son for over 3 months. She is punctual, well prepared and organized, friendly, and knowledgeable. My son is Dyslexic and Pnina has shared useful techniques and structures to help support his success. She is creative and flexible; while at the same time also clear with her expectations. "The Only Tutor You'll Ever Need, effective/organized/creative/patient."
I have teaching experience, working with people who have ADD or ADHD for over 15 years in standard classes, and have taken Special Ed. classes while working toward that credential. Students are best supported with clear and concise organizational forms and formulas, guidelines, and consistent support. I am a creative and up-beat person who is understanding of what their needs are, organized with good communication skills, and can also be assertive when appropriate. I incorporate all of these attributes, as well as having the training and experience to successfully work with your child. ... More

I highly recommend Matt. He has done wonders with our son! Our son was failing Spanish when we found Matt. Now, he has passed his first semester of Spanish and even received a "B" on his Spanish final! Matt is GREAT and he cares! Matt has a very effective teaching style which makes our son feel comfortable to learn and make mistakes, which I feel is VERY important! Our son always leaves his tutoring sessions with confidence and his head held high. After every session, Matt takes the time to write a thorough and honest review of how the session went and what materials were covered. And, Matt is very accommodating when it comes to meeting times and locations. There is no doubt... We picked the right tutor for our son! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I found Andrew through WyzAnt and he was available to start working with me almost immediately. I had six weeks to prepare for the GRE, and he made time for me, which was super important. He presented a schedule for studying and lessons tailored to my strengths and weaknesses, and we've met around twice a week. The lessons have been incredibly helpful, and he's gotten me through material (especially math) that I've had great difficulty with in the past.
I would highly recommend him to anyone seeking out an available, supportive tutor with comprehensive knowledge of the GRE.
