Avo is a professional— he arrived on time and (very) prepared and goes the extra mile he had printouts from textbooks and even stayed 15 minutes later than planned, or paid for. To give you some background, I’ve never used a tutor before, and I’ve never used Wyzant before, either. I’m in the accountancy program at CSUN; although a good student, for various reasons I haven’t been keeping up with my classes: one of those classes is Intermediate Accounting II. I’ve been cramming for the midterm, and I ended up getting stuck for two days because I couldn’t figure out the method that I was supposed to apply to a certain kind of problem. I frantically left Avo a message and he calls me ten minutes later ready to set up an appointment! Talk about fast response! The day of our appointment he shows me the method I need to use simple as that and more. I was frustrated at the stupid textbook and my stupid professor for making it 100 times more complicated than it really is yet so relieved that it was so simple. I would’ve paid double Avo’s rate for half of the time he spent with me. Next time, instead of wasting 2 whole days struggling, I’m just going to call Avo. You should too!

"The Nasa Scholars Program made math real. You can, too."
Accounting has traditionally been understood as record keeping for purposes of controlling businesses in terms of incomes and expenditures. In working with USC and SMC students in their accounting courses including introduction to Financial Accounting and Intermediate Accounting I have worked to emphasize the non-obvious aspects of accounting that touch beyond profit making; These other aspects have bordered on accounting as a tool for processing information towards critical decision making within organizations. ... I thought having Sarah as my tutor was great! She breaks down every concept slowly so that I can grasp the concept. The best thing about Sarah was she wasn't in a rush to teach me physics, nor did she look at her watch or cell phone to worry about the time. I can't wait to see Sarah again! Thanks a bunch.
