"Passionate Literacy and Reading Tutor"

My passion is working with students who are struggling readers. In my career, as an educator, I taught various grades in K-12 for 16 years. I worked in higher education for 3 1/2 years as an Academic Advisor. I have worked with several students who are dyslexic and I have a child that has dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia. I love the one-on-one tutoring because it allows me to become more familiar with my student and it helps me focus on what is needed for my student to be successful. I c... ... More

Mark is dedicated to helping me granddaughter with learning to read. He communicates with me after every tutoring session which is important since I do not live there. He is willing to discuss her progress and discuss options for improvement. I feel confident in his teaching strategies and attention to my granddaughters individual needs.

"Experienced Tutor for the Learning Disabled, Public Speaking Tutor"

For the past ten years I have been tutoring children with ADD/ADHD. Sometimes those children have more than one diagnosed disability. My training is specialized using the Wilson Multi-Sensory Curriculum. The speech, hearing, and learning center closeby has noted the progress of my students and has recommended me to others. I teach these youngsters in the public library with no need of a private room. Three to six months of fifty minute lessons twice a week produces a marked improvement. ... More

Tanya won't waste your time. She is good at figuring out if she can handle a lesson or not before she comes out. She asked me great background questions and set good expectations. She came well prepared and was quick to figure out what needed to be done. She is easy to get ahold of to schedule and make changes to appointment times. She was very flexible and willing to be accommodating. She is a good communicator and easy to understand. She helped me understand my Finance class and assignments very well. Because of her I have gone from flunking to passing. I would recommend her to anyone that asked me for a finance tutor.
Francisco has a positive energy that made me calm and confident in speaking Spanish out loud. He revolved the whole lesson around what I needed - to brush up on my Spanish skills before I went to Argentina to visit my boyfriend's family. His strong teaching of conversational and grammar skills made me very excited for my trip as I will surely communicate much better with everyone and have a great time!
