Hello Potential Student! First, I want to tell you a little about myself. I have a Master's degree in International Affairs from Penn State. I have spent the last two years teaching ESL in Ukraine as a Peace Corps Volunteer. There, I mainly worked with high school aged students. However, I will be teaching a 400 level history course at a college come fall 2019, so I can work with different age groups and backgrounds. I love teaching subjects such as history, English, philosophy and political ... ... More

"CRLA Certified Tutor"

Although Aspergers is similar to autism, there are facets of an individual's personality that are distinctively different. This can cause difficulties during the school day or during tutoring appointments. I have the knowledge to cope with these differences and to help students with Aspergers syndrome succeed, regardless of age. Keeping these individuals to a routine that they are comfortable with is key, as is complete knowledge of subject matter. ... More

9/8/2014 Amanda jumped right in and helped me increase my familiarity with EXCEL 2007 intro and basics. Amanda is an excellent teacher. She helped me build more confidence. She is very clear and found opportunities to challenge me during the lesson. She was willing to stay a little longer to complete an example from my graduate accounting class. She is committed to a successful outcome right from the beginning. Also, I really appreciate her coming to my house after her work day and working with me on my old PC. 9/15/14 Amanda is very clear and concise and very patient. She showed me more than one way to do things in EXCEL and she seems to be very comfortable with other Accounting questions and budgets. 9/29/14 Amanda is very quick and knows exactly how to zero in on a computer-related question. She is very resourceful and shared tips on how to self-teach new software. She is very comfortable with working with an older student and taught me some things I always wanted to know about Microsoft Office Suite WORD and EXCEL. I really hope she will be available in the future as she has offered to help me with a new laptop's features.
Ashley is very sweet, patient and enthusiastic. She engages and keeps my daughter focus on her tasks. My daughter really loves working with her and looks forward to have her sessions every week.
We are very pleased with William's tech savvy tutoring approach for language arts and SAT/ ACT prep! My son, a senior, finds him very relatable and helpful. William is also very valuable for college entry essay aid. He made certain that my son wrote the essays but helped him recognize where to look for mistakes. William is very prompt, flexible, and easy to schedule. He goes above and beyond to make certain the student is receiving the instruction needed!
