"English teacher"

My first year of teaching was at an elementary school (K-8) in Ely, Nevada. Having grown up in Spokane, this was not only a lonely move but a “treeless” one. So I returned the next year to Spokane and worked first as a Library Clerk in District #81 and then as a full-time librarian for ten years at a middle school. In 1986 I replaced the librarian at Central Valley. Over the next few years I helped bring the internet to CV in the form of computer labs that weren’t connected with each othe... ... More

"Energetic, fun loving mom with a passion for teaching children!"

Hi! My name is Alison and I am a mother of two young children. I have a degree in social science with an education concentration. As I have watched my children grow and learn through the years I have developed a passion for helping. I have been a volunteer in my kids' classrooms for the last 6 years on a weekly basis and I have seen first hand the kind of help kids need. I am happy and fun loving and would love to help your children succeed!... ... More

Cassandra is doing and excellent job and keeping our son on task and organized. Since Cassandra was hired she has been helping our son stay focused on doing him homework and doing it right. He got an A on his spelling test on Tuesday and he was very pleased with himself. He is actually excited to plow through his homework so he can get another good grade! As time goes on it will build his academic self esteem. thanks again Cassandra for your patience and ability to help our son.

I found Simone's style of teaching to be a perfect fit for my learning style. She is patient and does not make you feel bad that you don't know, but uses it as an opportunity to teach. Loved her!! Can't wait for my next session.
It can be a challenge for a parent to educate their child at the age of being a young adult. The young adult often needs that outside positive feedback and instruction, beyond that of their parent. James does a fantastic job at creating an environment where there is mutual respect, motivation and education. This allows those that he teaches the opportunity to focus on the goal with success in mind. James provides the structure, knowledge, feedback and communications that the individual being educated needs. James has genuine interest in setting his students up for success. As a result of James' instruction, tutoring and knowledge my son was and will be able to reach his goals. He was able to get great scores on the ASVAB and now can choose any job he desires in the the military. His future is now wide open thanks to James' influence. James is now on my very short list of resources I may look to in the future for my son's younger siblings. I can not thank James enough for the positive influence he has had on my son's future.
Kim helped guide me through SPSS after a 13 year hiatus. The way she guided me made me feel as if I never had a break in using it! Using Skype and the "Share your screen" feature, she helped guide me to figuring out what I was doing wrong and right, and helped explain what was wrong when applicable. She was very patient with me, very thorough in her descriptions and in wanting to see me perform the correct step before moving on. She was flexible on time (I had a number of family delays that she accommodated perfectly), respectful of my situation, and extremely friendly. I look forward to working with her again in the near future. I would recommend anybody needing help in any of her tutoring subjects with no reservation at all! We need more tutors like Kim!
