I have an MEd in Special Ed. I've been a case manager at the High School and Middle School level. Many of my students have been coded with Aspergers or PDD of various sorts. I have worked at a private special ed school in Concord, which specializes in helping students with Aspergers. And I worked for years in the high tech industry, most recently as a technical writer, and worked closely with many adults who were very likely Aspergers. I enjoy tutoring accounting classes of all types. I personally go beyond simply helping a student memorize accounting principles. I show students how to understand the concepts and how to study properly and effectively. When working with the ADD/ADHD students in my class I would work with them one-on-one or in small group. I would present them with a problem and then I would set the timer for them to complete the problem. When first beginning with them they would get a great amount of time to complete one problem. As the year went on they would get shorter amounts of time. The students would also get smaller amounts of work to be done. They were also given time during their work to be able to read or play with a chosen item for a given amount of time and then would have to come back to the task at hand. ... More
