Catherine was a great and patient tutor. She made tutoring sessions fun and actually explained things further if I didn't understand something. I've had many tutors before but no one was as patient and understanding like she was. I would love to be one of her students or recommend her to anyone that is in need of a subject that she teaches. Catherine was able to reply back to you in a good amount of time which really helped with schedule planning. Once again, a great tutor that I would enjoy working with.

"Chemistry Tutor with Professional Scientific Experience"
I am a professional tutor with a scientific educational and professional background. I enjoy helping students come to their "light bulb" moment where the dots connect, and a difficult topic starts to make sense for them.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, and my college studies included extensive advanced scientific and mathematics in Physics, Calculus, Chemistry, and Biology. This educational experience gives me the flexibility to tutor many topics. Immediately after graduating w... ... More

I found Sharon J came prepared for the class and she was on time. But I felt she is not knowledgeable in TOEFL. I think she should reassess her skills before accepting tutoring requests.
Additionally, our first meeting was supposed to be an introductory session, but she made a class out of it without declaring any syllabus before meeting. And she charged me for that session.

People have always guessed that I was a teacher as if I had it emblazoned on my forehead! In fact, as a child I was the neighborhood teacher conducting class in our garage. In college I wanted to know French so well that I could teach English in France. However, after 6 years of French that never materialized, and I didn't make it to France until about 30 yrs later. Amazing how I could still carry on a conversation in French after all that time!! I truly love the language!
I also love the En... ... More

"Ready to help you learn!"
I'm a graduate of Iowa State University, looking to pay off school debt. I have tutored before, however the dates were not consecutive. I have about 1 full year experience between all accounts. I love brushing up on subjects; it keeps my mind sharp, as well as allows me to continue learning as well.
I have always excelled at English in school, both growing up and also in college. I love proofreading for my friends and sharing easy tips and tricks to make your writing sound crisp and unique... ... More

Anne has been our math tutor for our 14 year old daughter this summer, and we feel very blessed to have selected such an outstanding person and tutor. Anne has helped our daughter feel more confident in her math abilities, and has engaged our daughter through her teaching techniques, which are not always available in her regular math classroom. The one on one attention, has been an excellent way for our daughter to not only grasp the concepts, but has provided a forum where she feels comfortable asking questions.
Anne has done so well with our daughter this summer, that we have asked her to stay on as our daughter's tutor during the school year. We are certain this will be a benefit for her by keeping her interest and focus on math.
I absolutely appreciate the very detailed and enthusiastic summary that Anne provides us via e-mail concerning her tutoring sessions with our daughter, and are immediately available to access.
Anne is very talented and it is apparent that she enjoys working with students. I know it has been a great reward for her when our daughter has reached that " Ah HA " moment. Her patience is contagious and encouraging as well!

Hajime-mashite! Nice to meet you! My name is Anne and I have my IA K-12 music license, as well as my IN Professional Educator license. I've just added an ESL endorsement to my standard IA teaching license. Although music is my area of endorsement, I have been doing substitute teaching in many areas -- in particular, for middle school math teachers, and also for lower elementary school (K, 1, 2, 3, 4th grade) classrooms. Math is definitely an area I love - nearly as much as music! When i... ... More

"Experienced Multi-Subject Tutor with Math Specialty"
I am in many ways, a stereotypical liberal arts graduate - I have a lifelong love of learning and explaining, and have always been interested in practically every subject. When I was in college, I was active as a tutor in six different departments, and I loved the feeling of changing gears between the subjects and relating them to each other. But while I am a generalist - I feel as comfortable with Russian literature and music as I do with mathematics and military history - I know that for ... ... More

Cheri is excellent! It has only been a few weeks and I can already see a great improvement in our 9yr old girl that Cheri has been tutoring. The lessons are fun but very effective, our girl is at ease with Cheri and enjoys every session of tutoring with her so much that she asked for the sessions to be longer. Cheri has helped her improve in spelling, writing and all aspects of ELA. We look forward to working with Cheri. After our summer break, we plan to have her tutor our girl throughout the upcoming school year, as we have found Cheri's tutoring to be a method that gets great results, with great focus on having the child be happy while learning. Best decision ever, choosing Cheri.

Gioia D. did a great job helping my 7th grade daughter prepare for her Biology test, and I would highly recommend her. She was a big help in getting my daughter organized and inspired my daughter to believe that she could do well. Gioia came prepared with what was necessary to get my daughter on the right path. She was wonderful with communicating with me and quickly could tell what my daughter needed to work on. We will continue to have Gioia tutor my daughter. What a blessing to have found her!
