"English Reading, Writing and ESOL Tutor and Elementary Math "
Tutoring is something that I picked up as a college student. I love the fact that I get to work one on one with students because it enables me to foes directly on the student and identify areas of growth and and strengths. I enjoy watching the students' confidence grow as they receive more and more one on one tutoring. From my experience, students who have been tutored feel more comfortable in their classroom and excel at fast speed. Tutoring makes this academic growth possible.

What luck I had finding Mary. She is a wonderful person who I enjoy working with very much. She is very patient, and so natural to get along with I feel like I've known her for a long time. She does her job in an excellent and detailed fashion and I believe is providing what I need to accomplish my goals.
Mary continues to fulfill my needs in a timely fashion. She is reviewing and editing material I hope to have published. Mary has uncovered numerous errors in the construction of my material that had unfortunately been overlooked by a previous reviewer. Also, Mary has provided good feedback on story content and character development. Good progress is being made.

I’m currently a Junior at SUNY Brockport. I’m an English major with a concentration in Creative writing, so I do a LOT of it. I’m an older college student; as I went into the military out of high school, where I spent six years. After the military, I worked as a Sheriff’s Deputy at a local county Sheriffs Department. After a couple years there, I decided to finally take the plunge and finally go back to school and start my life. I went to SUNY Brockport because all of my friends went the... ... More

"Writer, Reader, Scholar"
If I had to summarize myself in one sentence, I would say that I am passionate in helping minds grow. My name is Emma, and I'm a recent graduate of Goucher College in Maryland, where I earned my Bachelor's degree. My fields of study are English literature, creative writing, and art history. One other thing I might say about myself is that I am a natural-born "digger." I love research. When I'm sorting through stacks of books, I'm in my element. Whether I'm analyzing Tolstoy, researching for a... ... More

Very knowledgeable about the SAT and how to work through them. She is helping my daughter sort through the "hidden meaning" of questions and helping to build her self-confidence as to her test-taking capabilities.
Highly recommended this tutor!

Jack is an excellent tutor. Punctual, extremely knowledgeable, but most importantly my 17-year-old son who was struggling with Pre Cal after the first two lessons with Jack thought he was a genius. Jack patiently worked with him through the basics and now my son has a greater understanding of the subject matter with the result that his grades have improved enormously.

It was a joy working with Mayumi. Truly, learning Japanese with her was one of the most fun things I did all summer. She helped me reach my language goal before moving to Japan to live and work. I feel much more confident that I will be able to get around and make friends while I am there.
Mayumi was friendly, warm, and very patient! I stumbled through our practicing at times but she patiently corrected and guided me. I will miss our tutoring sessions. Thank you, Mayumi!
