I started my first semester of graduate school excited and ready for the challenge, but I quickly discovered that my writing skills were not at a graduate level. I utilized the college writing center but did not feel totally satisfied with the results. My grades were improving, but I always felt pressed for time with writing center tutors. So, I returned to the service that so faithfully serviced my tutorial needs in the past, WyzAnt. This company has the best tutors and thus far I do not recall being unhappy with anyone I chose. Though my last writing tutor was pricey, she was still a good pick, but Donald is frankly awesome. He has delivered services that are above satisfactory. He quickly responds to my numerous email requests and he returns the paper promptly with excellent suggestions on how to improve my writing. In Donald, I found a tutor who generally loves to help and who is there for his students. This is very important to person like myself who has limited time off due to my working schedule. He is sensitive of my time and he is a wonderful person. Anyone considering a writing tutor, Donald is the only recommendation I will provide.

"Writing Teacher for College Students and Adults"

"I hate writing!" This is not an uncommon sentiment, even if it is not stated out loud. As a writer and a writing teacher of 25 years, I know why so many have this feeling. There is often a disconnect between what people want to write or say and what teachers and editors expect. I can help bridge this gap. I know what teachers, professors, editors, and readers want. I have worked with learners of all ages, at all levels, in a variety of settings, including classrooms, hospitals, librari... ... More

Dr. H is helping me understand a class in cognitive neuroscience. I have been having a hard time understanding the foundations, and Dr. H has broken down the material to make it understandable and easy. I really enjoyed learning from him, and feel more confident to do well in class.

"Medical Microbiology, Anatomy & Physiology, Pathophysiology"

My teaching philosophy evolved from many years of teaching experience, which began at the prestigious Lund University in Sweden where I started teaching Microbiology to undergraduate students and then continued in New York at Hunter College and Jersey College School of Nursing, where I have been teaching for the past 3 years. Over the course of all these years as an instructor, my approach to student education has shifted from an emphasis on my teaching to a more central focus on student lea... ... More

I came to Frances knowing nothing about painting. I was also very apprehensive about whether or not I could be taught how to paint. After our first lesson I not only realized I could learn how to paint but with Frances’s guidance I could also expand my mind in ways I dared not consider. Frances is such a unique teacher. Aside from being a brilliant painter, she has an impressive resume of experience and knowledge in many fields. Over the course of our time together, she has managed to teach me about painting in a personalized way that has helped me to not only build upon my existing field of expertise but surprisingly to learn more about the world around me. I find myself contemplating our painting conversations frequently and at times when I am not only thinking about art. I always look forward to meeting with Frances and applying her knowledge to the things in life that interest me. As an art professional myself, a working NYC artist who exhibits widely, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that Frances knows as much about contemporary art as she does about the old Masters. Her wealth of knowledge is astounding which gives her an ability to cater her lessons to your own personal needs in a manner that has your best interests in mind rather than a prescribed teaching approach. Frances is also wonderful at helping you build upon your strengths in order to get you to the necessary next stage. Not only does this foster self-confidence but it enables the skill and information to click in a way that helps the process to move faster as you continue to study and learn. She is by far the best art teacher I have ever had and I can confidently recommend her. It is a rare thing to find a teacher so well versed in painting, design, textiles, psychology and children. I am happy that she can teach me and soon, when my son is a bit older, I hope that she can teach him too. She is a true gift!

"Classical Art Techniques and Creative Self-Expression for Any Age"

As an Undergraduate I exceeded the requirements for a minor in Art History, maintaining a 4.0 grade point average across 42 credit hours of Art History. Additionally, I have direct experience from working in 3 major Fine Art museums, as follows: 1. My first Masters Degree if from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. As a teaching assistant I facilitated the inclusion of children with Autism into enrichment programs. This work included taking trips with the children into the AIC Museum Collections. After graduation, I was hired to continue this work as an adjunct professor. 2. In the ... More

"Expert Tutoring in Advanced Math"

I have helped dozens of students complete their General Education Development tests including Math, Science and the other subjects. My approach is tailored to each individual so that more time is spent on areas of weakness and less on areas of strength, although we do consolidate these by continuous practice. Most students I've worked with have limited time so my solution is to cut straight to the chase, give them the exact data they need and build the skills necessary to pass the test. Extraneous material is avoided at all costs. ... More
