I am a graduate from Oberlin College. I currently am a Ph.D student in the department of anthropology at the College of William and Mary. I am interested in culture and history. Anthropology is a writing intensive program so I can help with all things that deal with how to research and write papers. Since I am in graduate school I am good at organizing and can share what I know about study skills and organizing one's life to achieve the most benefit. I am in my twenties so I still unders... ... My name is Kayla and I go to public schools and I was barely passing Chemistry with a D and I needed to increase my grade fast. I found Judith W. and she was able to help me with everything I needed. She taught differently then my teacher did which helped me to understand in an easier way and she gave different examples till I understood the criteria. I used to fail almost every chapter test and with her I started making Bs on test and quizzes. When my semester grade came out I went from a D to a high B! I also passed the SOL.

"Motivating Students to Learn: K - Adult!"

In my health psychology doctorate curriculum, I learned basic teaching methods for those with ADD/ADHD. I had already learned to assist my elementary school age granddaughter (who took medication for ADHD) with her homework. It is necessary to (1) remove distractions, (2) organize study materials, and (3) make study expectations very clear PREVIOUS to beginning any study session, (4) then consistently stay on track. It is also necessary to take breaks for relaxation and fun, thus encouraging the student's cooperation. ... More
