Joseph S. is a born teacher. In our initial phone conversation, we were pleased to learn about his long and impressive history of teaching, coaching, and solid resume which includes several published professional articles on the topic of teaching basketball to kids. A middle-aged player, Joe deftly illustrated many points himself in fine form. He was always cordial and easy to reach by phone.
Joe is professional, punctual, and absolutely passionate about the game of basketball. His love of the game is evident in his teaching style. In each session with our exuberant 14-year-old ADHD daughter, he was consistently upbeat and positive as he skillfully kept her completely focused, involved and on her toes at each one-hour lesson. We noticed that at the end of every lesson, our daughter’s spirit always seemed lighter and her attitude more positive than at the start of each session.
At times when she needed repeated demonstration and explanation, Joe was always patient, clear, and supportive. His helpful post-lesson review comments provided an objective description of our daughter’s learning style and progress. Throughout each lesson, Joe offered so much continuous sincere encouragement and praise that we even enjoyed watching the session ourselves!

When searching for a tutor I honestly did not know what to expect after several responses to my ad I settled on Debbie. To be honest I chose her because her fee was less than most and by reading her profile she seemed to be experienced, well all I can say is WOW! What a treasure she turned out to be!
Not only was she willing to travel to my son but she has been able to TEACH him, something many have failed at before. She took the time to get to know him asking just the right questions, and she sought to understand how he learned, how he approached problems, she then used this insight to lead him to understanding. She is patient, wise, and very skilled at the craft of teaching. My son lives with his mother so Debbie sends me an email after every appointment reviewing their time together in great detail. I found this quite comforting and it demonstrated her commitment to my child and my concerns. She is an excellent teacher and I would highly recommend her for any of your tutoring needs and I assure you that you'll get more than your money's worth. Five stars, two thumbs up! I would not hesitate to use her again in the future!
