I maintain a highly professional, yet engaged disposition as I seek to make students as comfortable as possible with me. By using a combination of observation, research, and student-centered teaching/assisting I aim to help students succeed. I focus primarily on discovering how they learn best and fostering that method so that they continue to learn better. I have a degree in English with minors in Professional and Creative Writing and am currently working on my last year of my Master's in En... ... More

I have tutored such subjects as ESL, study skills, grammar, writing, and biology. I also have ten years of childcare... ... More

For my experience, I've tutored an elementary student in reading and computer skills, as well as some mentally handicapped high school students. I worked with the elementary student on his reading speed and comprehension, as well as on his willingness and ability to pay attention to what he was reading. Marie helped me get ready for the German Language Equivalency Exam offered at UCF for students to obtain their foreign language credit. We met once a week for about three months and she was extremely helpful with getting my language skills up to the level required for the exam. She uses many different methods such as conversation, listening, grammar, and reading comprehension that proved to be very effective. I recommend Marie 110%!
