"Experienced Multi-Subject Tutor"
Throughout my college career, I encountered fellow students who needed help with various classes. I eventually became an official school tutor, but I tutored anyone who needed help on a volunteer basis for several years. It's unfortunate that I didn't discover my passion for teaching until I was well into my major and it was too late to switch to the subject I would love to teach: Math. I have experience tutoring dozens of college-level classes, including statistics, calculus, algebra, writin... ... More

Overcoming challenges and finding unique ways of looking at situations has been a hallmark of my career in education.
I spent more than 10 years in the public school system, as a substitute teacher and special education paraprofessional. During that time, I learned many creative ways of helping students at all skill levels. Interestingly, I found that special education and regular education students needed the same things from me: time, patience, and my understanding for their unique needs... ... More

John is a great tutor, he's very patient and for someone like me who hasn't had to take a math class in over 25 years that is saying a lot. This Financial Management class is a requirement for my Master's degree and although it was difficult and a bit intimidating, John worked with me and took it very slow, step by step to ensure I understood the material. The end result was an A on the Mid-term exam.
I'm confident that my over all grade for the class will be an A as well. None of this would have been possible without his tutoring. I was somewhat skeptical in the beginning, but I'm very please with my decision to go with John as tutor.

I'm a Christian, a husband, and a father. I've been employed as a scientist and a software developer for the past 11 years. I have a PhD in physics and love explaining the principles of mathematics, physics, and computer programming.
I'm also a musician. I've played piano and trumpet consistently for over 30 years. I play and sing regularly in church, and I'm in an 11-piece Motown-style band that plays in the Fredericksburg area.
I'm patient and encouraging with students who want to... ... More
