Janis has been tutoring my nephew who has a language and learning disability. The school he attends is using the Wilson Reading System which was a criteria in the tutor we hired. Janis has been working with my nephew for three months now and the progress and improvement made is amazing. Janis is not only extremely capable to teach reading and language, she also cares very much about her students. And I cannot say how pleased with are with her and her commitment to helping my nephew. And by the way, he is crazy about her.

My daughter is very comfortable working with him and really feels as though it's helping her understand how to do better on the SAT's. So far, so good!! I will post another review once the SAT's have been taken. I'm sure there will be a great improvement!!

Mike is a great tutor. My son is a junior in high school. He's needed assistance in Algebra II. Mike puts the algebra material into a context that he understands. He's very patient. I'd highly recommend him for Algebra as well as preparation for SATs.

"Let your knowledge shine through ..."

Over 20 years ago, I was a college sophomore who had a difficult time getting through my freshman year. Classes seemed so much bigger and the organization required to get all of the work done seemed so much more difficult to me than high school did. I spoke with my adviser and was recommended to get some academic testing done. I was diagnosed with this thing called ADD and had not idea what it was or how exactly my affected my ability to learn, but at least I had a place to begin. Since that time, I have dedicated my life to working with students in need of something "more". The first tut ... More

"Lesley University Graduate Specializing in Learning Difficulties"

I've taught numerous students who have ADD or ADHD. The main difference between the two is that students with ADD typically are easily distracted and tend to have racing thoughts which prevents them from keeping focused for longer periods of time. Students with ADHD have the above problems, but they also have hyperactivity problems, such as not being able to sit still or keeping their hands still. Their bodies are overstimulated and require additional tools/feedback,so that they can improve their attention span. Many students with ADD or ADHD tend to need some form of physical therapy, occupat ... More
