My name is Janice B. I love to teach and have worked with all different age groups as a Substitute Teacher throughout Durham, NC. I have a deep desire to help tutor ADHD children and have had experience teaching and working one on one with children of Autism. "A tutor wanting to work her way out of a job!"

I am a mom of 4. I have helped them since young ages with their difficulties in all subjects. They are now middle schoolers and high schoolers. Before helping my own kids, I had tutored as a volunteer since my high school years. I have worked with students of all ages. My favorite areas are high school and college level math and science, but I have the resources to help middle school and elementary aged children as well. I am an educator by profession. I have a Bachelor's in Chemistry, ... ... More

Miss Elizabeth was extremely patience and kind with my son. I would recommend her highly to anyone. My son was very against reading and even more against getting extra help to do so. Miss Elizabeth made it fun for him and he even looked forward to going to see her. What was better for me was he went from getting “NS’s” (Not Satisfactory) on his report card, to “S’s” (Satisfactory) and “P’s” (Proficient). I am a very happy mom.

I also highly encourage the use of "fidgets" for children with ADD or ADHD. A fidget is a small object that children hold in their hand and "fidget" with while participating in a lesson. This allows the child to exercise his or her need to more or be doing something while still focusing on the lesson! I do not punish student ... More

Kim is an Amazing Math and SAT Tutor. She tutored my sister for the SAT. She is very patient which is a must when dealing my sister and her learning style. She gave detailed problem solving strategies that really boosted her competence level when she took the test. Kim goes through all math problems step by step with you until you master the concept. The study strategies she gives to help you improve your SAT score is invaluable. Kim's enthusiasm made learning and understanding the material easier for her. My sister took the ACT this Saturday and feels that due to Kim's help, her score had improved dramatically. Thanks Kim, now my sister will be able to attend the college she always wanted.
My son's first session with him seems to have been a success! Looking forward to see how my son grows and learns from this experience!
