Scott did a very good job and breaking down chemistry problems in a way that I could understand it. I have never felt as confident going into an exam as I did after meeting with him..

"Math, Science, and English Tutor, College Counselor."

I have more than 5 years of experience teaching and tutoring students at the elementary level. I started tutoring students of this age when I was in 9th grade, through 11th grade, as a volunteer community service to my former junior high. I have continued working with students of this age in math, science and English, on occasion, through my employment at various after-school prep academies. This experience extends to students of grade levels 3 through 8. I am familiar with the needs, attention span, and the patience involved in teaching to students of these ages. ... More

Sam is a good tutor. He is always on time and spends all his time on tutoring. He also prepares ahead of time for his sessions. He is very pleasant and easy to talk with. The subject material is Latin, very challenging, and it may take some time to know how well things are working out.

Colin is patient, personable and quickly adapted to my needs as a "student." He was able to get to know my learning style and break down quantitative GMAT problems that I had challenges overcoming. After just a few times of us meeting, I went into my GMAT confident and ready. My score improved over 100 points! I would definitely recommend Colin to other students who need that extra bit of help to excel.

"Patient, Experienced Multi-Subject Tutor (Harvard Grad & J.D.)"

I have counseled hundreds of students -- including high school, college, and graduate school -- regarding the application procedure to numerous competitive colleges and graduate (e.g., PhD, J.D., and M.A.) programs. I am especially adept at extracting important experiences and adapting them to the contours of a professional, yet truly personal "personal statement." I myself have developed personal statements and application materials sufficient to receive acceptance and full-scholarships to PhD programs at, among other schools, Yale, University of Chicago, Duke, and Boston College. I have addi ... More

"Private school teacher offering in-person and online lessons"

Ever since my first tutoring job in high school, I have loved helping students develop their skills and their confidence. My early experiences as a homework helper, classroom assistant, and SAT tutor are a large part of why I chose teaching as a career. I hold a degree in Classics from College of the Holy Cross (Worcester, MA), and currently teach Latin at an independent school in Memphis. I've worked with Latin students of all levels, from middle school to advanced undergraduates, and am ex... ... More

I have a B.A. in Greek and Latin from UNC-A, and I was teaching assistant in the Latin program at Hendersonville HS. I have tutored Greek and Latin to individuals of all ages for several years. I teach Latin from beginner's level to advanced, and I teach Greek from the elementary, to the New Testament, to the Attic (Classical) level. I also like to discuss the cultural and historical context of Greek and Latin with my students. I have worked on archaeological projects in Greece and Sicily,... ... More

"Latin, Writing and History Tutor"

My desire to tutor comes from a recognition that school can be hard and teachers cannot feasibly meet the individual needs of every one of their students all the time. I graduated from college in the top 15 my class at a competitive school. While I was there I served as a peer tutor and was teaching assistant for two freshman writing classes. In those experiences, nothing has made me happier than helping my peers finally grasp a concept that had been hovering right at the edge of their un... ... More

I have an M.A. in Classics from the University of Kentucky and a D.Th. in the History of Christianity from the University of Geneva. I have done quite a bit of tutoring since I was in ... ... More

As a background, I am an effective, caring and dedicated credentialed teacher of the Classics and English. I adhere to the core teaching philosophy that all people can achieve academic excellence if they are provided opportunities for rigorous instruction, high standards, informed guidance, and individual attention. I am a trained Classicist having begun my studies of Latin in the late 80's when I was high school sophomore. I continued my love of languages majoring in Classics with a La... ... More

Ryan was immediately available to help my daughter with her Algebra 1 problems. He was friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and concise. I highly recommend Ryan, and plan on using him in the future! Thank you Ryan!
Lisa started working on French with my daughter when she transferred to a new school in the 8th grade and the French was more advanced than her prior school. By the end of that year my daughter won the French award at graduation! From your very first meeting with Lisa you will know that she is something special. She is professional, dedicated, punctual and very accommodating to scheduling changes that came up from after school activities. She is also very positive and built up my daughter's confidence. I recommend Lisa - she is a first class tutor and person!
