"Patient and Knowledgeable History and English Tutor"

When I chose Saint Anselm College, I chose an institution devoted to providing a liberal arts education. I committed myself to a school that would emphasize not only local and national, but global engagement for its students, and encourages the pursuit of truth above all else. My exposure to this program at Saint Anselm College has helped me prepare to be a global player. It has driven me to seek out opportunities for higher thinking and international engagement. Saint Anselm College has intr... ... More

I am a career English teacher, with a Ph.D. in my field and 26 years of experience, in both England and in Maine. I love teaching and have been blessed with the opportunity to teach high school English, GED preparation in Adult Education, College Transitions (in English) courses in Adult Education, Adult literacy (teaching adults to read), and for the last 17 years, College Writing and literature at USM and UMF. Evan helped my high school daughter with a last minute assignment on the Cold War . History is something that my daughter as many struggle with and truly don't enjoy much. Well, a few times during their tutoring time, I heard my daughter laughing with Evan, and that right there made it all worth it! We had some technical difficulties and he was very understanding and patient with us, which I highly appreciated and took a bit of my stress level down:). My daughter had a 100 in her assignment and a big smile at the end of the day! Evan, you will certainly be contacted again when needed in the future! Thanks for attending promptly and so nicely to my daughter's last minute need!!! Thanks a bunch!

A decorated graduate of top colleges, I have 15 years' experience teaching English language, literature, writing and test prep (including math) at American private schools, serving both high-performing and developing or learning-challenged students. I have also taught across the humanities and arts, including history, as well as music and art history. Throughout my career, I have also tutored privately in the same subjects, working 1-on-1 with students from middle school through college-a... ... More

"BA in English, Experienced Campus Tutor and Peer Tutor Trainer"

I am what I like to call a "word person." I have always loved working with words--grammar, literature, vocabulary, even those pesky analogies! But more importantly for you, I also love to help others feel less intimidated and more confident when it comes to expressing themselves in essays, understanding literature, and preparing for standardized tests. I have a bachelor's degree in English. For several years while earning that degree, I worked as a peer English tutor on campus. After gra... ... More

Marc is a wonderful tutor. He never ceases to amaze me with his ability to either instantly solve the problem or, with research, eventually solve it. He never gives up. He seems to have great background in his chosen field. He is also a very kind person. I'm very at home with my computer, now that I know Marc is a stone's throw away.
Billie is an excellent tutor - she helped my son understand difficult concepts in ways that teachers don't even seem to be able to do! She is patient and was very helpful in squeezing us in when we desperately needed help. I recommend her 100%!
Sarah is very patient, reliable and hardworking tutor! We are happy to have her to teach our kids English and Social Studies!
