We met Shaun for one session with my 15 year old son who needed assistance with Intermediate Algebra. Shaun quickly established rapport and demonstrated ways for my son to approach problems in a manner he hadn't been shown in class. Shaun provided the right amount of positive reinforcement without overdoing it. My son was impressed with how smart he was and how quickly he could do the math exercises in his head!
Shaun spoke with my 18 year old son who is having some issues with Physics. My son was insistent that he did not want or need any help. He and Shaun had a brief discussion about teaching methods, approaches, former classes and again was quick to establish rapport with my son. He reassured my son he understood there are different learning styles and teaching methods. Sometimes, the two styles don't match and that's where he provides assistance. After Shaun left, my 18 year old son said he wanted Shaun to help him with his Physics.
We look forward to working with Shaun over the coming high school years. Expedient, intelligent, friendly and excellent communication with teenagers.
He got our son to enjoy a physics lesson. Wade made it easy to understand and not threatening. He is a GEM! Looking forward to our son's next session! Our son has several lessons with Wade now. He also tutors him in math. Wade continues to be excellent in his approach to our son. He even discussed and addressed our son's test anxiety and suggested ways to overcome it. We couldn't ask for anyone better! Thank you, Wade! Just an update: Our son now has a perfect 100% A+ in IB Physics!!!! Wade is amazing! The kids don't even know they are learning!!!!
Mr. O worked with my son today on concepts for his geometry class that he had been struggling with for weeks. By the end of the session, my son had a good understanding of the Laws of Sine and Cosine and other concepts which previously he had been unable to grasp. Mr. O first gave a short explanation of the concept and then watched my son work the problems. He gave guidance and direction when needed and reinforced the concept until my son had a total understanding of it and felt confident. I loved Mr. O's teaching style. He is one of the most effective tutors who has ever worked with my son.
