Katherine was very professional and easily understood our needs. Our son said he got a lot out of the session and after taking the test on Monday says he probably did much better after meeting with Katherine on Sat. She was very friendly and I felt comfortable with her immediately.

Hi. My name is Katherine. Are you looking for a tutor with lots of experience and plenty of patience? I'm comfortable tutoring children, teens, and adults in many subjects. I worked as an elementary school teacher for 10 years in public and private schools, and am the mother of 3 grown children -- so nothing scares me! For almost 20 years, I've taught English as a Foreign Language (EFL) to children and adults of all levels, and test preparation for TOEFL, ACT/SAT, and the GED exams. My ... ... More

I worked as a Special Education teacher for 10 + years and have worked with ADD and ADHD students. The key to working with these kids is to see how long they can sustain attention and teach in those moments. If it is a short time then lots of breaks need to be taken. Exercise and fidgets also can help aid in getting attention back again. ... More

"Strength-Based Reading, Writing & Math Tutor - Ann Arbor"
I have tutored students with ADD in Ann Arbor since 2008. Currently, I teach at an academy, a private school that specializes in working with students with learning challenges, especially ADD. My training includes tutoring under master tutor, Cindy Annchild. In my private practice I focus on using student strengths and personal interests to develop unique projects which help improve concentration, motivation, organization and memory. I also believe strongly in recognizing multiple learning styles. For this reason my motto is "think outside the box". ... More

My daughter loves Anthony. He has helped her grasp math and physics concepts that are hard for her. I am thrilled to have found someone she can learn from and with whom she's connected.

I have been meaning to write a review of our tutor, Ann H., for a while now. I chose Ann originally because of her experience working with special needs children. Ann has proven herself to be an awesome tutor and person. Ann did an initial assessment of my daughter's math needs and continues to assess my daughter's progress and needs on a regular basis. She is patient and kind and helps my daughter to stay on task - not always easy as my daughter can be very distractible and impulsive. She provides positive feedback as well as challenging my daughter to do her best - reviewing her own work to check for errors. She reviews basic math principles with my daughter on a regular basis. Ann is a really good tutor and seems to enjoy what she does. She is reliable, responsible, and honest. I was most impressed with her overall character when she charged less than her full amount for this most recent session due to my daughter's readiness to "be done" early. Ann did not have to do that but she did and that just solidified my already high opinion that I have of Ann. I plan on giving her name to my daughter's elementary school principal and staff. Thank you Ann!

"Patient, Experienced, and Skilled Special Needs and General Education"
I have taught special education students for 18 years. Many of them have had ADD/ADHD. I have taken a three credit graduate level course on ADD/ADHD through Loyola Marymount University in California. I am able to adapt lessons to meet these students needs. I have studied ADD/ADHD on my own in order to better meet the needs of my students and my son and to more fully understand how ADD/ADHD affects them in their daily lives. ... More

Kevin is an amazing tutor! From the first time my son and I met him, he put us at complete ease and I knew we were in great hands. My son needed to perfect a solo for an upcoming audition piece. Kevin went right to work, focusing on what needed to be done in the short period of time he had to work with. Kevin built his confidence up tremendously, with just the right balance of encouragement and constructive criticism. Kevin offered many helpful tips from his vast experience as a musician, and my son went into the audition fully prepared and completely confident in his abilities, thanks to Kevin! Although the audition is over, my son looks forward to continuing with Kevin, building on his newly acquired skills and mastering new ones.
