"Patient and Knowledgeable Java Tutor for Any Skill Level"
I speak more programming languages than natural languages. I've been coding since I was in high-school. I love coding and sharing my knowledge to anyone who wants to learn how to write computer programs.
I can help students with learning basic programming tips & techniques; such as writing algorithms, choosing right data structure to store data in memory.
Also, in some languages are designed to support Object Oriented Programming or OOP.
And I can tutor in this area as well by explaining what OOP principles are and writing code in OOP fashion.
I sent out a bat signal last night for help and Linden responded very quickly. Though this afternoon was quick notice, he was able to schedule an hour for an online/phone tutoring session. I was feeling overwhelmed with a Java project and was unsure how the various components worked together. Linden used enough jargon to point me in the right direction without talking over my head. Simultaneously, he was very patient with a new student and did several check-ins through our conversation to make sure I understood what he was explaining. I hope to work with him again in the near future; hopefully in person! Java isn't easy to learn over the phone, but Linden really did a superb job.

As a tutor with several thousand hours of experience, I have experience working with a diverse array of learning styles, ages, and disabilities. While everyone has their own learning style and thus approaches must be tailored for each student, I strongly believe in learning through understanding the concepts behind the material, followed by struggling through proper examples. I find that this approach balances both conceptual and practical knowledge, and helps students retain the material eff... ... More
David is a great tutor. Prior to the initial session he asked sufficient questions to gain an understanding of my son's background, the specific content being taught and the areas in which he was struggling. When he arrived for the tutoring session he was prepared with different possible lessons which covered the same goal, yet were tiered in complexity. David was very professional and organized, yet his easy-going demeanor really made it easy for my son to feel comfortable working with him. It was enlightening to see that my son was understanding and enjoying math after just one session, considering that he had been adamant in refusing to even work with a tutor.
