"Music, ESL, English"

Hey there! My name is Ashlyn L., and I'd like to share a little bit about my education experiences with you. My family moved a lot while I was growing up so I had a variety of schooling experiences. I went to a private school for K-1st grade and then was home-schooled for a while before going to a charter school for 6th grade. Another move led me back to being home-schooled up until 10th grade, when I attended Olympic College for Running Start. I completed that in two years and graduated at 1... ... More

I'd prefer to tutor reading, and I am a languages writer / publisher. I have published two dictionaries with other linguistic and language learning information, one for New Zealand Maori, and one for Native American (Hlingit or Tlingit). I have seven other language projects I've researched for... ... More

"Enthusiastic Tutor for Writing & Humanities Studies"

Hello and welcome! As a former college writing center consultant, I understand what it is to be both the student and the tutor (and how unnerving it can be to share your work, even on days when your self-esteem is fairly intact). My technique is one that offers respect to the student, and the student's work and goals. I prefer to use a Socratic approach by asking the student questions and helping him/her think through obstacles. After using this method for over 10 years, I have found it not ... ... More

Mark was very kind and patient. He is an upstanding moral man. There are so many different types of people you meet in life and many that you wont remember. We will remember Mark always, if we come for another class or not. What sets Mark apart from most is that even though he is not mainstream and is very devout Christian he does not judge at all. Mark takes his job very seriously and he did well with our daughter. Our daughter only needed a little help, otherwise we would be booking more classes. He made sure that we went through wyzant when we booked the extra classes. We are very pleased. I am glad I found this site.
I've met with Shilpa a few times now. She's done an amazing job explaining physics to me. She's great at providing me with real-life scenarios when these concepts apply. Though it's her first time tutoring at the college level, to me it doesn't seem like it. She knows exactly what she's doing. She's very personable and easy to understand. I'm definitely planning on utilizing her services in the future when I get to higher level courses.
