After a tutoring session with Maurice, our daughter is always smiling and relieved because Maurice has cleared up yet another concept that had challenged her. Today, they worked on kinematics problems involving distance and time. He also clarified how to multiply radicals within radicals. He is excellent at assessing where the knowledge gap is and starting from that place to build the connections to fill the gap. Thank you.
I had telephone interviews with four tutors and it was easy to choose Clark. He spent about twenty minutes on the telephone with me and answered so many questions. The thing that impressed me most was his THOROUGH knowledge of the SAT and ACT tests, the types of questions asked, the "layout" of the tests, he knew so much. Although my son needs help improving his math scores, he also needs help with the critical reading section of the test. Clark answered all of my questions and explained to me how kids can do better on both tests by knowing what to look for, where to spend their time, how to eliminate wrong answers, etc. Clark then offered meet us the very next day, just for coffee to make sure his personality fit with my son's. During his first session, he touched on both math and critical reading just to give us a good overview of his plan for both sections of the test. My son showed me right off the bat a few shortcuts and skills he can use in navigating the test and I could tell my son was very encouraged with just that first lesson. I know he is going to walk into his second SAT so much more confident! We will be working with Clark for the next 8-9 weeks, I can't wait to see the difference in my son's scores!
Kathryn made me feel comfortable the moment I met her. She has a very positive attitude, knows her subject and is very patient/accommodating.
