"English Graduate Student with a TEFL Certification"
I graduated with my BA in English from the University of New Orleans (UNO) in 2014. After that, I pursued my Teach English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certification. I tutored students privately for my practicum hours in order to receive that certification.
Now, I am currently working on my Master’s in British literature at UNO and hope to pursue my PhD and studying the poets of the 1916 Easter Rising in Dublin.
I am passionate about helping students have that “aha!†moment. There is... ... More

"Professional Editor Tutoring Writing and Literature"
Hi! My name is Caitlin. I graduated with a B.A. in English literature and cello performance from DePauw University in 2011. I went on to graduate with an M.A. in English literature from the University of Virginia. I worked as a university writing tutor during both my degrees. I realized how much I loved working with students and how powerful it could be to give them tools to improve their writing.
After graduate school, I started working full-time as an editor and researcher. I've worked i... ... More

I am very happy with Carol E. as a tutor for my granddaughter. A lot of progress was made and I'm sure it will make a difference in my childs school work this year. My granddaughter really enjoyed her time spent with Carol.

"Skilled Proofreader, Tutor Math, Writing, Reading, Test Prep, more"
In the spring of 2003 I finished Economics 1000 at our local University of New Orleans. World poverty, market structures and prices, government control of prices, economics of higher education, economics of crime were topics in Chapters 1-3 and 5 as well as our first one hour exam. We sat in a huge auditorium while lectured by our professor standing on a stage with slides on the screen. We finished 13 chapters while covering a huge number of policy, taxation, energy problems, and health issues with social security poverty problems and discrimination that semester. I have many T-F and multiple ... More

I learned a lot from our session about legal writing and planning for future tests. She is an excellent teacher and I could not be happier!

I love teaching due to my lifelong love of learning. As a law school graduate, I know that hard work and dedication to learning can pay off. As a teaching professional and tutor for eight years, I have had the pleasure of helping countless students realize their potential through improved grades and test scores. This is the most rewarding career!

"10+ Years of Experience"
I work with all grade levels, from elementary school through the college level. I specialize in adapting my lessons to each individual student and their needs, and have a wide range of experience in taking a student's stage of life and unique struggles into account. While I mainly work with students in math and science as that is usually where the need is, I can assist in writing/ELA, social studies, Latin or Spanish as well.
My goal is to train students to not need me by showing them how ... ... More

Stephen responded quickly to email and requested information on what we were studying so he could come prepared. He is on time and my child responded well to his teaching style. He showed different options to get to the answer so my child could understand the best way that would work for him.

My son had to get a tutor to improve his reading and language art skills. Lisa was very diligent with him and he always looked forward to his tutoring sessions and excited about it. She kept him interested by figuring out what interested him and we were very happy to have her tutor him for as long as she did. Unfortunately we have to move here soon, but we'll be missing her.
