There are a lot of advantages to gaining access to private music lessons, and even if you are not learning a new instrument for a school or college exam, you can still benefit from personal tutoring even if you are learning a new instrument for your own personal pleasure and entertainment.

Debra was outstanding in helping my daughter prepare for her end-of-the-year Spanish finals. She successfully clarified areas of confusion and intuitively worked on areas that would most likely be challenging. As a result, my daughter did great on her finals. Debra worked extremely well with my daughter, and I highly recommend her as a tutor. She is kind, professional, flexible, and highly capable. We can't thank Debra enough.

"Want to learn the guitar without it feeling like school?"

My goal as a teacher is to avoid any type of dogmatic "one size fits all" curriculum. I always want to know what music the student enjoys and build my lesson plans based on their tastes. Chords can be physically challenging for beginners so I like to work with single-note melodies early on so that the student isn't quickly discouraged. Learning chords becomes the medium-term goal. As for the long-term, I will then use specific songs as examples for how music theory works in the context of... ... More

I cannot say enough about Kevin. My recent statistics course has been the most challenging class I have experienced in my academic career thus far. I struggled with the material, but Kevin walked me through it every step of the way. He was not only dedicated and well prepared, but he took a great deal of time between our sessions to construct study guides specific to my needs. He was always available when I needed him, and he was willing to answer emails and text messages between sessions. I worked with Kevin for a total of three months and in that time he maintained a high level of both enthusiasm and professionalism. He exceeded my expectations, and I can't imagine that there could be tutor out there who can do a better job. I feel as though I received my money's worth, but more importantly, I reached my goals for the class. There is no way I could have done this without Kevin's help. There is no question about it: if you need help with statistics, Kevin should be your first choice.
Wayne has been a lifesaver, at least a degree saver anyway. I have never been good at math, but he has made it much easier to understand. The whole Wyzant process has been so easy, from finding a tutor to payments. I really wish I'd found them sooner!!
