"Writing / SAT / GRE / Praxis Tutor who can work with all students"
As a public school educator for fifteen years, I have worked with many students who have specific learning issues. Specifically, students with Adhd and ADD have increased success with strategies that can be utilized in a tutoring situation such as teaching students to use calendars, schedules and assist students with organizational habits. Even involvement in sports can help students learn discipline! ... More

Michael arrives on time and clearly has a great command of Spanish. He is prompt with returning emails and I feel that he fills each hour of tutoring appropriately. We know no Spanish at all so this is a challenge for any tutor, but Michael was not afraid to take on the role. He is tutoring four people at the same time of all different ages. He uses many examples to illustrate his points.

I feel qualified to tutor in English, because English is a subject that has always been one of my fortes. When I was in Honduras, I had the privilege to teach English to Honduran natives, which was a rewarding experience for me. Some of the techniques I have used to teach English are flashcards, colorful images to reinforce grammatical concepts and charts to demonstrate a complex concept such as verb conjugations. ... More

My daughter has now been with Cynthia, her tutor, for three sessions. We will be seeing her for more sessions. So far, my daughter has said that Cynthia is patient, a great teacher and helps her understand concepts she didn't understand before. My daughter has always struggled with being afraid of asking too many questions for fear that the teacher might get annoyed or not like her. She has asked Cynthia multiple questions on a particular concept and my daughter says she never once shows any sort of annoyance or disturbance by those questions. My daughter says that Cynthia always shows her a way to understand something she has not gotten. She makes sure the concept has been understood by giving my daughter problems to work through to make sure everything has connected for her. My daughter feels confident in herself, in her understanding, of the Algebra I concepts they have gone over so far. She feels that with Cynthia's help and tutoring, she will be able to pull herself out of the hole she was in in Algebra I and come out of the class with a good, final grade.

"I take the stress out of learning math, and make it seem easy and fun!"
Hello to My Future Students!
Let me introduce myself...my name is Cynthia and I love to teach math!
I graduated cum laude from Temple University with a BA degree in mathematics, then continued my studies there and received an MBA degree in finance/accounting.
I was looking for a part-time job while raising my four children, and decided that I would enjoy teaching math. This decision led me to becoming a college math instructor and private tutor for the next 30 years! I've taught as an ... ... More

Donna has been tutoring my son for a few weeks and he looks forward to her visits. She is personable, punctual and professional. She communicates well and has the ability to put my son at ease which helps him stay focused and excited about math. We are very happy with her math skills and the positive reinforcement my son receives at each session. I would recommend Donna to anyone who has a student who is struggling in math or just wants to stay one step ahead.

Phillip is a very thoughtful tutor and seems to go above and beyond to help my son with chemistry and geometry. Phillip is always prompt and if he is running late, he always lets me know instead of not saying anything at all. My goal is to get my son to maintain A's and B's and so far with the help of Phillip, it is going well. In addition, he sends extra work for my son to work on as well before they meet.

I hadn't studied for a standardized test ever in my life and I majored in International Relations in college (not very quant intensive). By the time I decided to take the GMAT I was hitting a wall in my studies. I needed someone to better explain the concepts to me than those explanations found in the back of the Official Guide 2015. Suresh was a great resource for identifying my weakest areas and explaining solutions in a clear and understandable way. I received a 730 on my GMAT and owe Suresh my gratitude for achieving that score. However, for anyone as inept with Mathematics as I was, you must understand that intensive study on your part is necessary. Suresh will be able to lay a path and provide guidance, but you have to master the concepts alone...come G-day you will be on your own!
