"Biology and Chemistry Tutor in Milwaukee, WI"

I'm a 2009 honors graduate of Marquette University, where I received a B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, along with a minor in Theology. Although my specialty was science in college, I was the Concertmaster of the Marquette University Symphony Orchestra for two consecutive years, along with being a MU radio DJ and pep band member. After Marquette, I spent a year and a half in graduate school at the Medical College of Wisconsin, where I gained invaluable experience in the laborator... ... More

My son felt Tim was a great tutor. He was patient, and gave my son different tips and ideas on how to take the ACT. This test has strategies on how to take it and Tim really seem to understand these concepts. Because he is a younger tutor, he is so familar with the test himself. Tim was always on time and very pleasant. Easy to communicate with. We were also happy to refer him out. Even our high school counselor was asking for his number.

"Notre Dame Student/Tutor Specializing in Math/Chemistry"

I am currently in my second year of the chemical engineering program at the University of Notre Dame. I have had a lot of success in all courses I have taken thus far, receiving As in Intro to Chemical Engineering, Thermodynamics I, Computer Methods (Numerical Methods) for Chemical Engineers, and Material Science for Engineers, and have already had practical experience applying these theoretical principles as part of a Department of Energy solar cell laboratory at the University. ... Kelly is an amazing tutor! I never thought I would say this but I actually had fun with Spanish and I have such a better understanding of ser vs. estar which the first time I did not understand at all! She is a miracle worker! Thanks Kelly! Kelly is helping my daughter learn the Spanish that she didn't understand and learn in school. Kelly has been a tremendous help to my daughter this summer and has helped her gain the confidence she will need come this fall when she takes another Spanish class in school. Kelly is excellent at explaining Spanish. Thank you Kelly for helping my daughter.

"Versatile, Personalized Tutoring"

I tutored Physics and Mathematics for 2-3 years at Hamline University in St. Paul, MN. I also have minors in Psychology and Spanish and am fairly knowledgeable in many other subject areas. As far as my tutoring philosophy, I believe that there's more than one way to explain something. If a student isn't comprehending something, I will try to explain it in a different manner. After all, not everyone learns the same way. I, myself, am a visual learner. If I don't see a math problem worked ou... ... More

"Enthusiastic Teachers College Grad Excited for English Tutoring"

I was a high school English teacher and now work with struggling intervention students in the areas of reading and writing. I always start with evidence as the basis for writing, organizing thoughts in a sensible manner, and writing clearly for audience. I believe that it's important to teach writing in all different contexts—math, science, social studies—so students are able to express themselves across content areas. I specialize in standardized testing, as that's one main part of my current school role. ... More

Ahmed was my daughter's tutor who helped her for the GRE. We will use Ahmed again when we get close to the LSAT. My advise to prospective GRE takers is to start studying as early as possible. Thanks Ahmed.

Between January 2000 and December 2001, I taught a course called Contemporary Applications of Modern Mathematics for four semesters at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The course covered Graph Theory, Voting Methods, Apportionment, The Traveling Salesman Problem, and Descriptive Statistics. I planned, taught, and graded this class for two sections each semester, with around 25 students in each class. ... More

"Great at science and math!"

I graduated from college with a bachelor's degree with majors in math and chemistry in 2005. Afterwards, I went on to get my PhD in chemistry, graduating in 2009. While in college, I had the opportunity to work as an in-school tutor in the public school system, tutoring students in grades 1-12 in all subjects. My major focus, however, was grades 3-5 math and reading and 9-12 math and science. I've found that using real world examples, especially for math and science, help students learn t... ... More
