"Stanford Alum CompSci tutor: Java, C++, Python, APCS and more"

Coding is hard, but you do not have to learn coding alone. I've seen too many times, and experienced myself, the massive frustration and discouragement that occurs when learning a language for the first time, or adventuring into more advanced topics. Hours of debugging seem useless. Lecture slides seem to make no sense. It is these students, who feel bamboozled and stuck, who I am best suited to help. I'm versed in undoing beginner mistakes and making lecture content intelligible and practica... ... More

Andrew went above and beyond, spending extra time with me to make sure I understood the material. He is fantastic at explaining organic chem topics and mechanisms.

"Postdoctoral scholar in chemistry, happily tutoring all the sciences"

Hey! I'm a postdoctoral scholar at Stanford developing new structural refinement strategies and exploring next generation methods of ribosome design. I just completed my Ph.D. at NYU, where I described new ways to inhibit protein-protein interactions. Earlier, I earned my B.A. from Harvard in Chemistry, though while I was there I spent a great deal of time on mathematics and physics as well. My undergraduate thesis was mostly in medicinal chemistry and total synthesis. I tutored through Har... ... More

I will rate Michael +5, he is great, he has a way of teaching the course in the level of my understanding, I might just A's this week work. I will definitely recommend Michael to other students that will need tutoring on Algebra. I cannot thank him enough for this session. Also thank you very much for recommending Michael.

"Patient, experienced, and pragmatic math and sciences tutor"

A strong liberal arts education and a long career in statistical modeling have left me filled with facts and skills that I am motivated to pass on. Most important of these is a strong intuition for rooting out problems in analyses and finding alternative ways to make things work. I believe these are both teachable skills.... ... More

"Patient and Experienced High School/Middle School Math Tutor"

Hello, I'm Isabel! I'm a college undergraduate student at the University of San Francisco, studying computer science and physics. I tutored both middle school and high school students throughout my years in high school, in all levels of math from Pre-Algebra to AP Calculus. I was also a peer tutor for a Pre-Calculus class my senior year, and provided extra help for students in the class, answering questions and teaching on days the teacher was absent. Last semester I was a volunteer with an o... ... More

Gil was patient, interested, and made the work interesting to my middle schooler. He was skilled at breaking complex concepts into simple "chunks" of information, and seemed to clearly grasp where to slow down and where to speed up. He was very responsive to child's needs and to parents' concerns. He is quick to respond by email and text. Definitely recommend Gil!

"MIT Grad with "No Fear" Approach to Technical Topics"

** June 2017 Update: Please note that I presently work largely with students seeking extracurricular or advanced instruction in programming, robotics, and mathematics. I work with other students on a case-by-case basis. ** It's much harder to learn something when you don't care about the topic. That's why I've always approached learning as two step process. The first step is getting to the "hmm!" moment -- that moment when you realize that the particular topic you're studying really does m... ... More

I got some valuable feedback how to improve my accent. The teacher was very experienced and personal. I look forward the future lessons with Theresa. Thank you.
Howard did such a good job helping my daughter with a complicated math class she was struggling with that we now have him working with our son with his high school work. I would highly recommend Howard to any student looking to simply complicated learning issues.
Carlos has a kind, calm demeanor, steady and consistent, which is good for our high school daughter. He has taken much time to prepare practice tests and assignments before he comes, which are tailored to her current lesson and tests. Excellent tutor.
