"Experienced Elementary School Tutor Specializing in Reading and Math"

I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration from Towson University. I have always loved helping people. I focus on building positive relationships with the students and making the learning process fun. The classes I performed the best in were the ones where I felt the professors cared as much about me as they did the subjects they were teaching. I have 2 years of formal experience tutoring elementary school students in math and reading but 8+ years of volunteer expe... ... More

"Get the quality of a certified teacher in the comfort of your home!"

As a teacher, I work with more and more students each year that have been diagnosed with ADD/ADHD. I am familiar with the kinds of accommodations that they require in addition to the most effective teaching strategies that will help students with ADD/ADHD become the best that they can be! On a personal note, my younger brother and several of my nephews have been diagnosed with ADD/ADHD, so I have been "teaching" children with ADD/ADHD ever since I was a child myself. With patience and dedication, I have seen how a child with ADD/ADHD can fulfill their maximum potential and even surpass th ... More

Denika is an incredible educator. We are fortunate we found her to tutor our eight year old son who has been struggling with phonics. She is kind, positive, fun and has the right authority to command his attention. It is so helpful that she is a teacher in the same county district that our son attends. This means she understands and is familiar with his curriculum. She is very organized and clear in her approach. She brings materials and gives us exercises to do at home with our son. And our son enjoys his sessions with Denika! His reading is improving every week. We are grateful for Denika's professionalism and kindness.

The lessons I teach will guarantee that the student will not only have learned a skill to take in their musical journey after their first lesson but they will have fun doing it! I believe learning/discovering music is something that should be enjoyed and NOT something to feared of or a labored task. EXPECT the student to be motivated through my method and concepts of teaching that will cause them to explore further possibilities in their area of study. As a musician that has traveled ... ...
