David G. was a great tutor. He was very patient with me. I learned how to use many different features of Microsoft Excel, he helped a lot with Calculus. David always came to appointments on time, and had very flexible hours. I recommend David for any one looking to learn Excel for the first time.

"Need help with Math or Science? I can help!"
I can help you with math or science. It's not rocket science...but I am. A rocket scientist, that is. I am a retired engineer who worked on the Apollo program to land a man on the moon. For several years, I helped design jet engines for commercial aircraft. I have a Professional Engineering License and a patent issued by the US patent office.
My tutoring experience includes three years tutoring at the Caridad Center of the Migrant Association of South Florida. I enjoy working with students,... ... More

I'm a homeschooling mother of four, two of whom are school aged. Margaret has been working mostly with my five-year-old while I work with his older brother. She has found creative ways to use the curricula that we have selected, which has helped to keep my very silly, daydreaming, chatty little boy engaged. For example, in his first tutoring session, Margaret had him stand facing her and pretend that they were both mirror images of each other while she demonstrated (in the air) the proper strokes for the letters of the alphabet. She has used mnemonic devices to help him learn to write his numbers correctly. This past week, she brought in two cookie sheets and some flour, and she and my son wrote their phonograms in the flour as he worked to master the sounds that each makes as well as how to write his letters and numbers. Overall, Margaret has been very patient and sweet, and is proving to be a great fit for my little boy. (She'll be working more with my older son in the upcoming weeks, and I'm looking forward to seeing how she gets him excited about his lessons.)

"Homeschool Mom With Strong Language Arts Background"
In my 20 plus years of teaching I have worked with students from elementary to high school level, and even adults with learning deficits, assessing strengths in order to use them to work on weak areas. I believe teaching/learning should be relevant, engaging, as hands-on as possible, measurable and applicable to a person's life and goals.
Whether tutoring a remedial student or a gifted student, I am focused on the individual's learning style and goals when structuring tutoring sessions ... ... More

We worked on differentiation and its relationship to graphs. We worked through several examples of computing derivatives using limits and on identifying graph characteristics based on slope and concavity.
