Sandra has been working with my son for a few months now. She is extremely patient with him as he is a slow learner. He has come a long way, it is all thanks to Sandra. When I was still looking for a tutor for him, she always responded to my emails promptly/timely manner.
Thank you Sandra we appreciate having!

I live in East Mesa and am willing to travel within 30-40 miles to do tutoring. I have been a special education teacher for 3-4 years, 2 of those years here in the Valley.
I have 2 children and 3 grandchildren, all of whom live back in the Chicago land area. I love working with children of all ages and this is my passion.
Particularly, I like to teach English, writing, and literature. I also have taught general math, pre-algebra, general sciences, biology, civics and geography. I love learning and consider myself a life-long learner as well as a teacher. Looking forward to working with Wyz ... More

Hello. I am a math fanatic! I love helping students understand how to solve problems so they can feel assured and confident of their work in the classroom and when taking a test. Previously, I have tutored Grade School Math through Algebra II online as well as Pre-Algebra and Algebra I in my home.

Our first grader was struggling with reading and was quickly falling behind by Christmastime. She was in the bottom level reading group at school and was very reluctant to accept help from Mom or Dad. She didn't "like" to read because she had so much difficulty. She also became frustrated easily and as a result, her confidence level was rapidly declining. When Mary first came to us, she was prepared with assessment tools which she immediately administered to our daughter. Mary quickly determined our daughter's strengths and weaknesses in reading and developed a plan of tutoring specifically tailored to our daughter's needs. In a few weeks we started noticing marked improvement in her reading ability. Throughout the tutoring sessions, Mary continually re-evaluated our daughter and planned future lessons accordingly. She also provided great feedback to us on our daughter's progress. Mary was able to accomplish what our daughter's teacher AND parents could not. We are so very happy with Mary - she is extremely strong academically, and also very patient and easily able to re-direct our first-grader's outgoing (and frequently fidgety) demeanor. Mary has a great sense of humor and laughs a lot with our daughter while remaining completely professional. Our daughter looks forward to her sessions with Mary because with Mary, learning is fun. We could not have asked for a more outstanding tutor. She has a flexible schedule and informs us of schedule changes well in advance. She has always been punctual. She is very forthcoming with feedback regarding our daughter's progress, as well as her thoughts/plan for future lessons. Mary is also proactive -- at the end of first grade and throughout the summer, she has been working with our daughter to bridge the reading gap between first and second grade to prepare her for the next school year. In all honesty, we don't have anything negative to report! Mary is the BEST.

Hi, my name is Mary. I have taught for over 12 years at the elementary level, and received my MA through Lewis University in reading and literacy in 2010. My passion is seeing a student begin to believe in themselves and discover that learning can be fun.

Christina was of course very knowledgeable, explained the material which in this case was pre-calculus to my son. From this his first lesson we made arrangements to continue with her. We're very pleased and highly recommend her. 01/19/2013
A lot of stuff covered today, but she took the time to notice that my son was not grasping some algebra material that he should've known. So she gave him a refresher and it worked. That's a sign of a good tutor. Thanks Christina, test on Tuesday. We'll see how he does. See you next Saturday !!! 01/26/2013
