I have been working with him to improve my critical and analytical thinking skills for the GRE analytical writing. He proofreads my essays thoroughly and makes perceptive comments on them so that I can learn more from the practice. Besides, he is willing to answer any questions that I may get stuck on and to try his best to help me understand. He can perceive quickly what I have trouble with and then suggests an effective approach on how to fix it. I am always impressed by his insightful thoughts and his ability to explain clearly something profound, recondite. His lesson really is enlightening and does broaden my horizons. I have great admiration for his teaching skills and his profundity. Quite evidently, he is by far the best tutor I've ever met!

Before Leonard helped tutor me for my Algebra 2/Trig regent, I believed I was going to fail. After he helped me so significantly, I got an 80 on my regent. During my tutoring sessions Leonard thoroughly explained anything I didn't understand and helped me prepare for my regent very well. He is very dedicated and I believe I would not have even passed my regent if it wasn't for him, let alone do very well.

We have had only 2 sessions but we are pleased thus far. My son is happy to go to school now because he understands what’s going on. I am waiting for his 1st test but I am confident that he will do great.

C code continues to be a better tool in manipulation and interpretation of data. Part of my previous research in data structure was executed in C while in school during my Bachelors and Masters classes in Statistics. The use of C as a platform in my previous and current projects turned out to be an efficient tool in analysis and reporting. It also made statistical methods including Anova, t-test, Chi-square test, logistic, etc. easier in application. ... More

I really enjoy the sessions I have with her! Not only does she help with the translation of the French text but she also takes the time to explain the pop-culture and history of France to better understand the passages.

Jennifer is not just a tutor -- she's the instructor that you want in the classroom teaching your child. She has a knack for bringing out the best in children. She was extremely gentle and patient with my eight year old son who because of a speech and language deficit, struggled in ELA. She tailored her lessons in a way that always grasped his attention and helped him retain information. I was pleasantly surprised when he was able to explain what they had worked on at the end of each session because he had never been able to do that prior to his sessions with her. She incorporated art and interactive activities that made the sessions more meaningful to him. After his first session with her (and a scoop of ice cream), he exclaimed that he had the best day ever! When we missed a session he expressed disappointment and communicated to me that he missed her. With her, learning wasn't a chore as it had been in the past. She's very thorough and even went as far as connecting with his teachers during the school year so that she could gain a better understanding of what his needs were. What more could you ask for in a tutor?

"Creative Language Arts Tutor, Trained in the Wilson Method"

I have tutored students diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder for a number of years. In graduate school we examined ADD/ADHD through a neuroscience perspective. In the classroom and tutoring my approach is more concrete-- to create an education plan for each student that takes into consideration their specific needs. The plan may include a multi-sensory approach to learning, self-regulation/monitoring techniques, and integration of physical movement. Instructional modification is the cornerstone of helping students with ADD succeed. I keep t ... More
