From the very first session Marlana was encouraging which took a weight off of me as I had found someone who could truly help me. This was a difficult subject and she eased my fears and helped me to focus on the job at hand; she taught me to review the complete problem and then dissect it in a logical order to cover all aspects of the problem using the right formula. She was able to guide me so that I could work the problems with ease; I understood the concept but was not good when having to put it in action with the exams. My homework grades and exams grades improved greatly. Previously, I had the lowest grades in the class but with Marlana's help I was able to rank with the best, my final exam grade was an A. I would not have done this without her assistance. She is knowledgeable and easy to work with; she is good with assessing your strengths and weaknesses which allows her to then guide you in the right directions. I am so grateful for her help.

With over 17 years of tutoring experience, I have worked with students from elementary school through college, keeping them engaged and learning with analogies that relate the material to things they deal with on a day-to-day basis. Ever wondered how electron behavior matches the popularity contests you find in high school or how to improve your vocabulary by posting on Facebook? I help my students to develop a love of learning by enabling them to think critically about the material, dev... ... More

"Math Acceleration Specialist"

PLEASE, watch the video on my profile, first. (On the "Resources" tab.) This year, my individual students received too many A's to count in the Jericho and Syosset districts. Three of my students qualified for the ultra-exclusive Institute of Creative Problem Solving G&T program. My second-best student came in 7th place in the State of New York on the AMC10 exam. My best student, my son, is featured in the video. He started algebra at age 5 and calculus at 7! In high school I captained ... ... More
