I contacted Steve when my daughter was failing Honors Geometry with only 3 weeks of school left. He met with her twice a week and helped her bring her grade up to a C which was practically a miracle. Lauren understood things Steve taught her that she had been confused about for weeks. Her grades on her subsequent quizzes and tests were all A's or B's and subsequently her 4th quarter grade improved. Lauren's confidence also soared and, while we still don't know her final exam grade, she seemed very confident before and after the exam so we're hoping for good things. Steve was considerate and encouraging and Lauren really responded to his tutoring. I would recommend Steve to anyone who needs help with math. I think you'll be very pleased with the results.

Stephanie has a wonderful disposition and clearly defines where help is needed. She is very patient and spent the time well. She even extended her time into another hour knowing that it would refine the skills needed to understand the concepts. Thank you Stephanie!

Robert has been a great tutor. As first time users of WyzAnt, he has made it a worthy, excellent experience. He was on time, patient, and always available when needed. He has helped my son go from very poor grades and not interested in Physics to straight "A"'s. He helped improve confidence in the subject as well as it being a good lesson for my son to take responsibility and learn the discipline needed to study and be successful. I would absolutely recommend him!

I am a graduate of Stony Brook University's secondary education of mathematics program, and New York and Delaware State certified to teach teach mathematics in public schools, for all topics.
To teach students of all educational types, one must be open to what the student responds to and what is best for their experience. I will always take into consideration if a student is more visual, tactile, logical, and use these to promote a student's learning. By being open to using multiple teachin... ... More

David is a patient and flexible math tutor. I gave him the specific chapters and sections that my class was working on each week, and he explained the problems to me step by step, paying special attention to the areas where I struggled. He was flexible enough to comply with my teacher’s methods for solving problems, while also demonstrating his own methods. Thus I was able to consider several ways to solve a given problem and then choose those that seemed more intuitive to me. Additionally, we used Adobe Connect to meet at a time that was convenient to my busy schedule. I sincerely recommend David.

Mr M. is a terrific tutor. He is very patient with the student (my son has ADHD) and also works to instill the confidence in the student that they can master the subject. My son, who also has a social anxiety disorder, quickly felt comfortable with him, and his grades in math have soared. Mr. M. is also working with him on his writing, and has been very flexible when holidays (or work crises) have interfered with regular scheduling. I am so thankful for his assistance and my son has truly enjoyed working with him. So much so that after he got accepted to a nearby university, he already asked if I would be willing to help him travel back to see Mr. M. for additional learning support. Of course I enthusiastically agreed.

"Keys to Chemistry, Calculus, Literature and More"
I have worked successfully with several Aspergers students at Delaware high schools (Wilmington Charter, St. Mark's, Newark). A solid clinical diagnosis and a thorough IEP are crucial. Most students with Aspergers are uncomfortable in social situations. I try to be very patient, help them relax, and gain confidence in me as I help them develop confidence in themselves. It is also important to discover the areas in which they excel. Imagination, properly encouraged, can be a wonderful attribute. ... More
