"Adjunct Chemistry Professor"

My name is Cody. I recently received my masters in chemistry at St. John's University. I was a teaching assistant for two years as well as an adjunct professor the past year two years. I have both experience inside and outside the classroom in that I have led laboratories as well as tutored students one-on-one and in a group setting. It has been a passion of mine to help students strengthen their knowledge in such a difficult subject. Seeing students take an interest in the subject due to my... ... More

We are happy with Anna, especially my daughter. She likes how she explains the math problems and she is very easy to learn from. My daughter feels she is really understanding math better now. I would recommend Anna as a tutor.

"Friendly, Experienced Teacher and Ivy Leaguer: Math, English, Spanish"

I've been teaching and tutoring math for the past eight years, first in New York, and now here in California. I graduated from Columbia University with a bachelor's degree in English, but then became a math teacher, earning a Master's degree in Math Education. I am very well-rounded as a tutor; I can help any middle school, high school, or college student with their homework and test scores in most subjects. However, my areas of specialty are math, writing, and Spanish. I have tutored stude... ... More

My very shy daughter was struggling with chemistry, Emma helped her raise her C grade to an A. Emma's gentle, precise and supportive teaching style gave my daughter the foundation so she would understand the curriculum plus the added confidence to raise her grade. She now feels confident enough to end her tutoring sessions with Emma after a month 1/2 and fly solo. I would recommend anyone to Emma.
Dave was great (understatement)! He was able to point out issues about my approach to the LSAT that I didn't even know I was committing. Once a few fundamental errors were corrected, the problem types I was consistently getting wrong became much more clear. He made sure to work through problems as he was sitting there with me, in addition to reviewing past work, so he could make sure I was correcting my thought patterns. I believe this set me up to do better on independent work. If you are having issues with Logic Games, I can not recommend him enough. I went in without being able to solve most of the games to being able to get almost every one correct. I'm not kidding, I seriously thought it was a hopeless case, and Dave somehow managed to turn that around. Games happen to be one of my favorite sections now. If you are a person reading this who is basically like, cool that's you and not me...I totally get that. But I'm also telling you to give yourself the slight benefit of the doubt because Dave can fix that. You will have to work, but he will make sure you do that. LR and Reading Comp are said to be sections that are harder to improve upon, I think that's probably correct, but through teaching me exactly what the LSAT writers are actually looking for when you approach questions, and explaining seemingly simple logic techniques, Dave transformed the way I approached these questions, so I wouldn't have to brute force my way through. Learning how to spend less energy on questions and still get them right is really important, and he taught me how to do that. I think I'll be much less stressed on test day knowing that when I don't understand a question, I can go back, approach it structurally, and still get that question right. I would not have been able to do this without his help. Dave actually cares about how well you're doing. He gets how important this test and law school is to people, and displays a high level of compassion and dedication to tutoring sessions because of that. If you're truly committed to this test, and willing to put in the work, Dave is your best option.
Kerlin was patient, kind, and funny. She helped my son understand the topic better and she responded quickly after I emailed her. She really knows her material and helped my son pass his test. I would definitely recommend Kerlin. She prepares students for the regents and is prompt to the session. Her price is reasonable. She always comes prepared and is good tutor. Job well done Kerlin!
