Andrew went above and beyond, spending extra time with me to make sure I understood the material. He is fantastic at explaining organic chem topics and mechanisms.

"Postdoctoral scholar in chemistry, happily tutoring all the sciences"

Hey! I'm a postdoctoral scholar at Stanford developing new structural refinement strategies and exploring next generation methods of ribosome design. I just completed my Ph.D. at NYU, where I described new ways to inhibit protein-protein interactions. Earlier, I earned my B.A. from Harvard in Chemistry, though while I was there I spent a great deal of time on mathematics and physics as well. My undergraduate thesis was mostly in medicinal chemistry and total synthesis. I tutored through Har... ... More

Gil was patient, interested, and made the work interesting to my middle schooler. He was skilled at breaking complex concepts into simple "chunks" of information, and seemed to clearly grasp where to slow down and where to speed up. He was very responsive to child's needs and to parents' concerns. He is quick to respond by email and text. Definitely recommend Gil!

"MIT Grad with "No Fear" Approach to Technical Topics"

** June 2017 Update: Please note that I presently work largely with students seeking extracurricular or advanced instruction in programming, robotics, and mathematics. I work with other students on a case-by-case basis. ** It's much harder to learn something when you don't care about the topic. That's why I've always approached learning as two step process. The first step is getting to the "hmm!" moment -- that moment when you realize that the particular topic you're studying really does m... ... More

"Calculus Tutor - Master in Engineering"

I tutor mainly on algebras, pre-calculus, calculus AB and BC. It is an easy job to give the correct answers directly to students. I prefer something better than that. I guide them to find the correct answers by themselves. So when they are in the test or exam, they can solve any problems. I explain to them the concepts and knowledge requirements behind each of the exercises. What they are all about. How we should tackle the problems. How we are going to break down the big problem into some p... ... More

"Friendly, experienced math tutor"

I taught undergraduate math and statistics courses at UC Berkeley for about six years while I was a doctoral student. During that time I had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of students at very different levels. I'm just as happy helping out students who just need to pass as I am working with students who are striving for that A+. I'm passionate about math and about teaching. My favorite part of graduate school was getting the chance to work with students one-on-one. Working ... ... More

Fantastic Tutor! Tammy has a lot of patience and she comes well-prepared for an effective tutoring session. She also works well with young children.
I am very impressed with Chris on many levels. His communication response time is remarkable. He is open to a flexible tutoring schedule. My nephew needs help with algebra. This is his most frustrating class. What Chris is providing my nephew is an opportunity to learn at his own pace and to thoroughly understand concepts before moving on to the next. It will take a lot of work and time but Chris has the most calm and patient demeanor which is what is so necessary when grasping difficult problems. Not only is Chris calm and patient but he is very thorough and I am confident with his assistance my nephew will finally have success in the area of algebra.
I enjoyed my tutoring sessions with Genevieve, she was most patient. I have improved in Anatomy and in the areas where I most needed help. If I ever need future help, I will not hesitate to contact her again. Thank you much.
