Getting private music lessons is one way in which you can gain more confidence in using a new instrument or when the time comes to learn to read sheet music.
There are a lot of advantages to gaining access to private music lessons, and even if you are not learning a new instrument for a school or college exam, you can still benefit from personal tutoring even if you are learning a new instrument for your own personal pleasure and entertainment.

Being an excellent sight-singer is essential and a required tool in the music world today. I have been away from a classroom situation for over 13 years. I wanted to become more proficient with my sight-singing. Having this skill will enable me to be more of an asset rather than a liability in choral situations. So, I searched and found Jody through Wyzant. Jody makes it fun, yet a challenging experience. Jody is extremely patient! Jody has worked extra hard with me utilizing various techniques to get me to understand the concepts of sight-singing. It is never stagnant or by rote; Jody really keeps it interesting. In short, Jody is an awesome teacher.

Leah was patient with my daughter and gave her tools to learn what she needed and didn't rely on rote memorization skills. Very nice. Will definitely use her again.

My daughter explained that she likes Chuck because of the way he approaches tutoring. She likes that Chuck engages in her learning activity – he would scaffold, helping as needed but keeping her engaged in doing the work. When she gets stuck, he offers a hint or points out what she isn’t seeing, but also is patient and lets her work through things. I, as the mother, found him professional, confident and patient. Excellent tutor.
