Evan's tutoring is always well planned. My daughter is struggling in Spanish and Evan has been a great help. He would bring his own teaching materials to help her understand the fundamentals first before jumping right into the existing problem. My daughter is doing better in her Spanish class after just 2 sessions with Evan.

"Spanish tutor interested in/enthusiastic about teaching Spanish"
My enthusiasm and passion for Spanish began in middle school and developed throughout my high school and college years. Having immersed myself in the study of Spanish for so long, I now like teaching the subject because I find it fun to decode and recode the words of two languages. I enjoy working with people to help them develop skills. I am amiable, knowledgeable, patient, and can break down the concepts in a way that people can understand and from which they can benefit.
Currently, I am... ... More

This is our first time using a tutor for our daughter who is a high school student taking AP Chemistry. She has had only one tutoring session with Daniel. After her first tutoring session, we did ask our daughter if she felt comfortable with Daniel and how well he explained things. She felt overall that things went well and felt comfortable with him. This is a new experience for our daughter. She felt that for the first tutoring session it went quite well, and that Daniel was able to explain the assignment clearly. If she had any difficulty working out a formula that wasn't clear to her, then he would help her to understand how to go about working out the formula in question.

Emily tutored by college aged daughter for a Math 6 course she was taking. Emily showed up prepared, having researched the type of math and gaining the curriculum for my daughter class so there was no down time when she came to tutor. She jumped right in breaking down the complex computations for my daughter, which definitely helped shed light on a type of math she was in the dark about.
Thanks Emily!

It's nice working with Paola. I have two girls ages 3 and 5 whose attention span is not great. She is patient and always encouraging. In fact, she has come up with a new strategy to tutor each for 30 minutes. This way they each get oneonone time. Great idea!

"Italian, bilingual, patient teacher."
Having an Italian father and an American mother I had to grow up bilingual. Half of the family only spoke Italian and the other half English. I grew up in Italy so I know the language and the culture and the differences between living in Italy and in the US. Subtle differences such as when you're offered something saying "yes, thank you" as opposed to "yes, please".
I know first hand the challenges, and benefits, of handling 2 different languages, and as I teach Italian to my adoptive niece... ... More
