"My gift is to see the potential in every student to be their best"

I realized the power of learning at an early age. One of eleven children in 625 sq.feet of space, I knew that knowledge and wisdom were the tickets to a new life. Learning opened the world to me to become a doctor and a lawyer and be whatever I dreamed. Since then, I have taught to everyone anything I knew. I have taught 5,000 clients they could change their lives. I have taught over 7,000 students how to think and use their minds. Most recently, I tutored a special needs student, taking her... ... "History and government expert"

I have been a teacher/tutor for more than 45 years, having taught social studies including every subject therein. I most enjoy US History, and continue to study as much of it as I can. My tutoring experience has covered every major of the American experience in a combination of experience and study. I made a decision as a teenager to be a teacher and to be the best I could be with the combination described above. There is no area of US History I cannot handle and with which I am not comfortab... ... More

Eric and I worked on material for my first midterm in my second semester of chemistry at OSU. I felt a lot better about all of the concepts covered, including solubility, rate laws, and colligative properties. He gave me an information sheet he made about the basics for what we were going to cover and explained concepts in full detail with very nice analogies. We also worked through a few math problems and I felt much more comfortable with those. Overall, Eric did a great job of telling me how to do a problem, the concepts behind the right answers, and the real world applications of why it was important to learn. Thank you so much! I will be coming back!
Kate continues to perform what I hoped she would. She gives the student the freedom to discuss where they are at in a subject and to drive the lesson. This gives the student the chance to show what they know and allows the tutor to monitor their thought and performance process. When a student struggles they can ask for help or Kate can jump in to help them out and use that time to offer suggestions to assist the student in future problems related to that lesson. Kate is a student-orientated tutor and that is what I want. I want my child to demonstrate what they are working on, how they approach the lesson, and demonstrate how they approach problem solving. This approach allows Kate to monitor the student's understanding of the lesson, the problem-solving techniques exhibited, and ways the student can improve.
Shaniqua is a great tutor for our son and has helped him so much already. She is very patient with him and makes sure he understands everything they are discussing. I highly recommend her!
