"Software Engineer with academic/professional tutoring experience"

I've tutored and helped people in the professional environment with different issues including the fundamentals of development to the coding and testing aspects of software development and engineering. I love everything about tutoring because it's exciting to see people get the concepts, and understand what things mean whether it's concrete like C pointers, or more abstract like software design with UML. In addition to the rewarding aspect of seeing other people succeed, I learn during the ... ... More

I want to say a BIG thank you to James. He is a great tutor. I literally had no idea what to do with the subject SPSS and Statistics, when I contacted WyzAnt and got James as a tutor. It was one of the best things that happened to me in my educational pursuit. He helped me understand the concept of SPSS and statistics. I was at the point of failing this class because of my ignorance on the subject, but I have now completed the class and the final grade was posted and I got a "B." THANK YOU VERY MUCH, JAMES. You are a great tutor.

I'm a PhD candidate in Computer Science at Georgia Institute of Technology with a minor in Machine Learning. The Georgia Tech CS program is ranked 7th nationally, among all the CS graduate schools, according to the USNews. Being such a competitive school, entails being knowledgable, too. In the lab that I do research, we implement our algorithmic prototypes and ideas using variety of programming languages, especially when the library that you are interested in is available only in one languag... ... I was feeling lost in statistics days before our final and Joseph really helped me to understand the material. He explained things in a very real world way which made it much easier to understand. Statistics is complex and I found it very helpful to break things down into simpler components. I would definitely recommend Joseph for anyone struggling with this material.

My first experience with networking was with Lantastic, a 10-base-T coaxial network back in 1994, later I became acquainted with Token-Ring networks, which are also coaxial based. Since then, I have kept up with the progression from 10 MB Ethernet CATV networks, through 100MG and now 1GB. During my years working at an ISP, I also had to manage routers, managed (intelligent) switches and DSL over copper phone line equipment. Eventually, we branched into wireless networking as well, starting with the original 8011.b 11MB standard based on 2.4Ghz line of sight technology. Troubleshooting and ... More

Our daughter had her first tutoring session with Serhiy in advanced algebra/trig, and it went extremely well. He is well versed in the topics, and of equal importance, he is very patient and encouraging. It's unfortunate we didn't start tutoring sooner, but we feel very fortunate to have found someone with Serhiy's abilities to help our daughter.
Mike was more helpful than you can ask. He didn't sit and wait around for me to try and give him instructions on what I may want or need. He got out his laptop, placed it next to my desktop and got right in the game helping me. Mike is very friendly with a easy to get along with personality.
Veronique knows her stuff. She was able to break concepts down in such a way where they ready made sense. Looking forward to session II.
Eric and I worked on material for my first midterm in my second semester of chemistry at OSU. I felt a lot better about all of the concepts covered, including solubility, rate laws, and colligative properties. He gave me an information sheet he made about the basics for what we were going to cover and explained concepts in full detail with very nice analogies. We also worked through a few math problems and I felt much more comfortable with those. Overall, Eric did a great job of telling me how to do a problem, the concepts behind the right answers, and the real world applications of why it was important to learn. Thank you so much! I will be coming back!
